Chapter 15

" Elda ... sweet cakes wake up " I groan as Adam shakes my shoulder lightly , why is he giving me weird nicknames anyway !?

" C'mon El it's 5:30 , we're supposed to meet these people at 6:00 "

I rub my eyes and look at Adam's extended hand , I smirk and push him away
" I'm going to the bathroom "

He chuckles and opens my side of the wardrobe probably to organize an outfit for me and I'm so thankful for that .

I brush my teeth and do my stuff and get out , there is no sign of Adam in the room , I smile at the sight of my clothes that lay neatly on the bed along with a flower and a small paper .

Elda .
I'm so sorry for what happened yesterday, for lying to you and yelling at you , hopefully it won't happen again ever , you only deserve happiness and I'm planning on giving you just that .

I grin happily and quickly put on my clothes and leave the room trying not to think too much of this upcoming meeting .

Adam is standing in the hallway with his hands in his pockets looking deep in thought , I walk towards him and take his hand , we start walking to the forest

" Who do you think these people are ? " I ask though I know that he probably doesn't know much about them

He shrugs " I don't really know .... ,but something tells me that they won't be a threat to us "

I look around me and notics that we're already in the middle of the forest , but there's no sign thag anybody was here , I could feel Adam's muscles tensing

" Can you smell this ? " I ask

He frowns " Smell what ? "

" It's kind of like a burning smell , smoke and ashes " I say

" Elda ... these people are here for you " He says and pushes me behind his back .

The smell gets stronger as the people that we're waiting for get closer , I can hear their footsteps getting closer .

Adam squeezes my hand " I'll keep you safe " he whispers

I look over Adam's shoulder and see two people one of them still a teenager probably 17 or something the other one looked older .

The boy starts walking towards us leaving the old man behind
" So you came ! "
the boy says

" Yeah ? " Adam shrugs

" Why are you hiding her ? We're not going to hurt you guys , we want to help "

I step away from Adam and cross my hands over my chest

" Now we can have a normal conversation " the boy says and signals for the old man who walks towards us

" We don't have much time , so ... We're here to help , lots of people are willing to volunteer in your army " The man says

" You must be doing this for a reason " Adam raises an eyebrow
" I can't really say the reason in front of you , I need to speak with Elda in private " the man sighs

" I'll be fine Adam " I squeeze his hand

I start walking behind the man till we reach a secluded area , he suddenly stops walking causing me to lose my balance and nearly fall , but he quickly grasps my elbows steadying me , he shakes his head and smiles

" You haven't changed at all , still the clumsy little girl "

I frown " Explain please ."

He nods " It's been a long time since I last saw you .
It was your fourth birthday ..... when your parents died , though I remember it as if it was yesterday , your parents had powers just like you , and when you were born the hunters knew that you'd be different .... they wanted you on their side , but your parents refused , unfortunately the consequenses were bad , they kidnapped your mother and tortured her to death , and your father died trying to save her , but although he couldn't save her , he protected you . " He points to the bracelet that's on the ground beside him

" Your father told me to give you this on the right time , it's special , it'll protect you , it'll help you gain your powers again "

" I still don't know who you are "
I say

" Your father and I were like siblings and on the day he died he asked me to protect you till I die too and that's what I'll be doing ... I'm asking you Elda to allow us to join your army against the hunters , and I promise you no one will get hurt "
" You know why they want me right ? "

" Yes , because you're one of the strongest mystical creatures that we've seen in ages and you combine two elements that contrast eachother "

" I've only got fire now " I sigh heavily

" You'll get your powers back , it's just a curse , they cursed you trying to weaken you , but your power will come back to you "

He stands up and dusts his clothes , I follow his movements and stand up as well

" I'm- I think I trust you , though about the army thing I have to ask the leader first "

He nods and we both start walking back to where we left Adam

" What took you so long ? " He pulls me in a tight hug

I finally let the tears fall freely
" He was my father's bestfriend , he saw it all ,he saw my parent's death "

Adam rubs my back soothingly
" It's okay , it's okay , I'm here "

I take a deep breath calming myself " He wants to join our army along with other people obviously , I told him that we'd ask Edmund and make the decision together "

I glance at the man who is currently speaking with the boy that's standing with him , I look at Adam who looks deep in thought .
Edmund makes his way towards us

" So ... What do you guys think ? " I ask

" Well ..... since I've heard the wole conversation , sorry for invading your privacy Elda , I think that he can be trusted " Edmund says

" I agree with Ed " I smile waiting for Adam's response

" I don't know guys , Elda can't fully control her powers yet " he says seeming hesitant

Edmund pats his back " I'm sure that Elda is capabale of thatby now , you don't have to worry "

Adam pulls at his hair " Can't he give us some time to think ?"

I grab Adam's hand " Adam look at me , he promised that no one would get hurt "

Adam sighs " Okay then I'm with you guys "

Edmund walks towards the man " Thank you for coming jack and thanks for volunteering in something like this , you guys can stay the night in the institute and we'll be sending a message to the rest of your team to join us as soon as they can "

They both shake hands and Logan walks towards me givin me a fatherly hug , I give him a small smile and we all head to the institute together .
