We pave our way through the crowd and walk to the back where the tables are , I grin while looking at all the happy smiling faces around me , for some reason I've always loved seeing other people happy , like really genuinely happy .
Adam and I take our seats , he sits down and gives me a quick nervous glance , but I ignore it . He scratches the back of his head and shyly smiles when "perfect" starts playing .
" What is it ? " I ask with a warm smile in an attempt to ease his nerves a little .
" There's something .... that I've been meaning to tell you ..for a while now . " he says hesitantly
" Elda , since the first day that you set foot in this buliding , you've managed to captivate my heart , my senses , everything . You've easily invaded my thoughts , preventing me from thinking about anyone or anything other than you , you've made my heart your home without even noticing .... I've tried to ignore these feeling , but every single time you'd do something that'd catch my attention , be it a smile or a laugh.
I have this strong urge to protect you , to stop any guy from talking to you . I want to keep you safe , away from harm's way .... that's love Elda , I love you Elda and I don't care if you don't feel the same , just ... allow me to keep you happy and safe . "
By the time he finishes his speech , I find my self opening and closing my mouth like a fish , happy tears sting my eyes and I don't know what to say , I look at him wanting to get him out of his nervous state .
I finally get my senses back and grin like an idiot , I leave my sit and sit closer to him
" Adam ... I've been waiting for you to say this you idiot , I love you Adam "
He looks at me and suddenly pulls me in a bone crushing hugs which I return with the same force , feeling a wave of happiness surging through my body , but it fades away when I see Albert .
He stands with his his hands in his pockets staring at Adam and I with a huge smile that makes me furrow my brows , he's unaware of my eyes on him as he wipes a tear from his cheek then he rushes out of the back door .
Adam pulls away and takes my hand in his " Be my girlfriend Elda ." he says in a suggestive tone . I quickly nod my head happily with no hesitation .
I suddenly hear a loud squeal from behind me that makes me jump , but I calm down when I see that it's only Emma .
She winks at me while Edmund pats Adam's shoulder with a smirk on his face .
Despite my happiness , I can't seem to get Albert out of my head . I execuse myself and head towards the doors leading to the garden and just as expected I find Albert with his head in his hands , upon hearing my footsteps he looks at me with a torn expression , but it's quickly replaced with a smirk , for some reason I don't feel threatened , I'm some how certain that he won't hurt me .
" Never thought that you'd willingly choose death over life " He says looking at the ground
I scoff " You won't kill me Albert "
He grits his teeth and mumbles
" That's not my name "
" What ?" I frown
" Logan ... Logan's my name " he sniffs
A wave of confidence comes over me and I lightly push his shoulder making him scoot and take a seat next to him
" You're being weird , and mysterious " I smile
" Oh come on , I'm not the one sitting next to the guy who always threatens my life " he says sarcastically with a slight laugh
" Well you don't seem so dangerous right now . "
He sighs heavily " You shouldn't be here Elda , you should be in the safety of your little squad . "
I nod " That's true ... but I need to make sure that you're okay first "
He shakes his head " You're unbelievable , leave Elda , this is isn't safe "
I shake my head " I feel like I'm obligated to make sure that you're okay "
He groans and stands up " What's wrong with you ?? I could kill you right here right now and leave without a second glance . And you're still sitting here acting like we're friends ! Why do you even care ? " He yells causing me to flinch
" See ... you're scared ,you know I can hurt you "
" No I'm not scared ." I say stubbornly
" why in God's name do you care ? " He hisses
" Because you're human Albert , and I'm sure that you have a fragile part somewhere inside of you , even if you deny it " I say looking at my feet
He sighs " You've always been naive Elda , even when you were a kid " he whispers the last part in hopes that I didn't hear him .. but I did .
" you know what never mind " he yanks my wrists in his hands making me wince , he loosens his grip a little and subtly rubs my wrists
" Stay still for a moment " he places his hand on my head and mumbles incoherent words , making me feel a rush of energy going through my body .
" You may notice some water leaving your hands along with some flames ." he winks and backs away a little .
" You should never come near me Elda " He warns his playfull side hidden again .
I watch as he fades in the darkness of the forest .
