In fact, I didn't turn around this time. I kept walking.
"Hunter, you don't understand." I spoke through gritted teeth.
"Oh Jade, don't deny it. I get that you like me and all... But you're just not my type. Sorry..."
The fury I felt flooded my entire body. THAT was it! I was being rejected by a guy I never even wanted? I mean sure he's hot but what a grasshole!
"EXCUSE ME?!" I screamed, turning around to face him, "I only did it because you're with Rachel and I needed to make sure you're okay for her and-"
"Oh so you don't think I'm good enough for her?"
"NO.." I growled, annoyed that he interrupted me, "I think you're not the best influence. Well I DID, but then after talking to you-"
"On anon" he added, a smile clear in his mischievous eyes.
I sighed, exasperated. "Yes, after talking to you on anon, I realized you were alright-"
"It's 'aight'"
"SHUT THE HELL UP! Anyway, I don't like you in any way. Frankly, I don't think you're anywhere near perfect, but that's not bad. I hate that so many rumors have spread, and why'd you have to go tell everyone?! Now your friends and half the grade Hate me with a capital H. But whatever. Just, I'm sorry for being all nosy and getting into your business. I'll leave you and Rachel alone as long as you can promise me that you'll treat her right...." I let out a deep breath, waiting for his promise. He didn't answer. He just started at me, his mouth twitching as he was obviously trying to hold back a smile. Does he think this is funny?!?
"Hunter, promise me."
"Well..." his voice trailed off, "ah whatever."
Realizing that I wouldn't get any better response and that this was my best bet, I nodded, my eyes still narrow. My suspicion still hadn't completely gone away. Heck, he didn't even promise, and he seemed to find this whole situation hilarious!
"What are you thinking?" He suddenly demanded.
"Nothing.." I croaked. "Ahem. I mean, none of your business."
He smirked and it was so hot. It was SO HOT?! Uhm yeah it's so annoying, that I find him hot. So now I was even more angry. Which I think he could sense, because that hell of a smirk just got wider and cuter by the second. He needed to leave.
"Why aren't you on the bus? They left, you know.." I tried to change the subject.
"Yeah, I know. But I stayed after so I could talk to you." His husky voice sounded so sincere as he scratched the back of his head.
Scratched the back of his head? That's a sign of when a boy is nervous? Why is Hunter nervous...?
I glanced at his shirt which read "Hollister 1922" in huge print. The shirt was so tight; I could see his six pack through it. My eyes glazed over his toned abs and I caught myself off guard, checking him out. He made me feel like an obsessed, crushing teenage girl during puberty and it wasn't a great feeling to feel. I mean.. The fact that it was caused by HIM... Sucked. My expression turned to stone and I looked him in the eye.
"Well, we've talked. Bye." I turned on my heel and started heading out of the school.
