Chapter 6

I walked into the cafeteria, my hands still clutching the ice pack like there's no tomorrow. Cassidy spotted me and whispered something to her 'friends'. Slowly, they turned to look at me, as if I were some dangerous alien. Then they burst out laughing so hard that i swear it could've been heard from Alaska! -.-
My face turned a deep red, and Im not sure whether that's because I was embarrassed or mad. More likely Mad. But then when mike and his best friend Hunter realized what's going on, stared at me as well, and then both started walking to me, I'm sure it was my embarrassment that was the cause for me to be a tomato face right now.
Thinking fast, I turned on my heel and nearly sprinted to my lunch table. I was met by 3 pairs of questioning eyes.
Austin looked confused and curious.
Rachel looked annoying and also curious
Nick.. Sure he looked curious, but worry was swimming all over his smoldering eyes, which glanced down at my fingers and ice pack, then at my swollen eyes, and Finally at my flustered face.
He stood up like a bullet, and the 3 of them asked all at once 'what happened.'
'Stuff' I replied angrily, thinking about Cassidy and Nicole. I launched into an explanation of what happened, but was shockingly and annoyingly and embarrassingly interrupted midway through when I felt a hand on my shoulder. I glanced at nick, sitting across from me, and felt bile in my throat when I noticed his deadly glare right above my head. I knew who was behind me.
So I was not surprised when Michael Arden whispered huskily in my ear 'what happened babe'
My Eyes widened and I shivered and glanced at Austin and nick. Nick was raging and Austin was in pure shock, clearly clueless as to what was happening. I then glanced at Rachel, next to me, and was shocked to find that she wore the same expression as I did. She too had a hand on her shoulder. My eyes trailed from the hand up to the shoulder up to the face, and it was hunter fox who grinned at me. I guess he was amused by my surprise? Whatever. I don't mind hunter. He's ok. He's not as big of a player as mike is, but he kinda follows him. They're partners in crime.
Suddenly I heard a huge thud to my left. I whipped my head to see what it was so quickly that I'm surprised I didn't get whiplash. Whatever though, because now mike Arden is sitting right in front of me.
I just looked at him, and saw that he's blocking nicks view of me and vice versa. Austin's jaw still hung open in utter disbelief.
' I asked u a question. U plan on answering it girl?' Mike smirked
I gritted my teeth and tried not to think about how oh so hot his smirk was. And his adorable eyes and his toned body and OMG his abs were so clear in this shirt and...
' up here jade' mike snapped his fingers in my face and grinned as he caught me checking him out .
HOW COULD I LET MYSELF CHECK HIM OUT! WAIT WAIT he knows my name?!? HE KNOWS MY NAME!!!!! (hallelujahhh halellujah) ugh no i must stop! What the hell is wrong with me?!
I felt my ears turn hot as fire and stared right into his eyes.
As calmly as I could, I said, 'your girlfriend Cassidy absolutely ADORES me. Which is why she and her lovely friends, as u know, won't stop talking about me. They're so jealous, but that's ok. I'm used to that type of behavior, 'BABE'. Oh and don't call me that again, or you'll regret it'
I sat back, just now realizing that I was leaning into him just as he was too :/ :0
Mike scoffed and actually looked amused, which just made me angrier
'Oh I'm SOO scared jade!' Mike mocked, his hand shooting in front of him as if to defend himself. Then he cracked up. I got so mad I pinched his knee, i know, very mature. It didn't affect mike AT ALL and in fact he laughed harder! UGH!
I wondered why hunter wasn't laughing too, him being a follower and all, and turned to Rachel. She was blushing hard and smiling at something he was whispering in her ear. She nodded and looked at me and grinned. Hunter kissed her ear and said 'so Friday then?'
Rachel's eyes nearly popped out of her head but she managed to squeak 'most definitely' and turned around to wink at him, which he returned back to her with a smirk. He then walked back to his seat, surprisingly for once, without mike, who I turned back to.
He wiped a tear of laughter away and said 'well ur a feisty one aren't u? Well...' He paused, a mischievous smile creeping up on his face, ' I like it. It's sexy ... BABE' he winked at me, and I glared at him.
The next thig I knew was mike was hunched over, nearly falling off the table and onto me. I gasped, and realized that nick had pushed him off.
'Dont u EVER call her that again. Stay away from her' nick growled at mike.
Mike got up looking so extremely infuriated that I just wanted to go hide in a hole.
'DON'T tell me what to do... Dick. Oops ... I meant nick.' Mike hissed, spatting nicks name. 'Oh. And you'll regret doing that.'
Nick scoffed. 'Oh no I won't
That was it for mike. Mike lurched at nick, who didn't flinch a bit. Austin and Rachel stood up and backed away, and the whole cafeteria stared at our table. Mike tried to punch nick, who dodged. Nick swung at mikes nose but mike ducked and punched nick in the stomach. A crowd had already gathered, yelling 'fight fight fight' just like they do in movies. Except this was real. And it was sickening.
'GUYS STOP!' I yelled, standing firmly between mike, the one who flirted with me, and nick, the one who crushed on me.
The boys glared at eachother and mike hissed 'this is not over.'
Nick replied cooly, 'we can gladly continue after school'
Mike smiled sickly 'my pleasure' and narrowed his eyes, Before looking at me. His eyes softened and he said 'sorry jade'.
I rolled my eyes and a lunch lady came by.
Kinda late.. I thought to myself, considering the fight was over.
The fight about me. WHAT?!
My life just got very confusing, and trust me, it wasn't that great to begin with anyway.
