         Hi, here I am again.

I never posted a review on here for it, so you may not know, but I loved Blue Neighborhood. Catch me still crying over the music video trilogy, honestly, and bopping every time I listen to "Youth" and "for him." Truly, I love that album.

I've seen nothing but good things being said about this album so far, so I'm excited. Will it be better than BN? Hard to say.

I've only listened to "Bloom", "Dance to This", "The Good Side", and "My My My!" once, although I don't remember it at all. Other than that, this is a first listen review!

         Let's go.

01: SEVENTEEN – 9.5/10

I love that the first verse is sort of mesmerizing. It's like...old school in a specific way, like an 80's/90's high school movie soundtrack. The echo-y effect on his voice aids in that. It has a story quality to it that "Dance to This", for example, didn't have, and I'm really into that. I don't think every song always needs that, but it's a nice touch in this one. Having it come first was a good decision – I think this is where it'll shine best on the album. Not that I think it's a weak song by any means, but I think if it were between "Bloom" and "Dance to This", I might have found it a little blander. Favorite lyric: I went out looking for love when I was seventeen / Maybe a little too young, but it was real to me

02: MY MY MY! – 9/10

I do remember that when I listened to this the first time, I didn't like it at all. That's why I never listened to it again until now. But already I can tell I had completely missed the mark that day, because this is great. I mean it's not my favorite Troye Sivan song by any means, but it's fun. There's something about it that reminds me a little of "Youth", but I can't place what. I just love how almost every Troye song makes me feel like I'm utterly infatuated with someone even though I'm not. Anyway this makes me want to have more of a life, so that's cool. I can tell why this was a track he released early. It's a good hook. Favorite lyric: Shine on, diamond

03: THE GOOD SIDE – 8/10

So when this one was released early, I actually added it to my main playlist, and I remember thinking "this is much better than My My My!" And then once it was in my playlist, I never listened to it again and removed it a few weeks later. It's funny because I think now I like "My My My!" better. This song kind of reminds me of All Time Low's "A Daydream Away", not in lyrical content but just overall sound. It's cute when you want something chill. I really like when the music picks up – that instrumental is stunning for the short amount of time it's there. But as much as I love a good chill/slow song, I've lately been into more bops than anything. So I don't dislike this, but it's not going to be a favorite. However I really love this little breakup story. The lyrics are definitely the strongest part. Favorite lyric: The people danced to the sound of your heart / The world sang along to it falling apart

04: BLOOM – 10/10

What I love so much about this song is that generally when I think of flowers or flora or nature in a sexual way, I think of it referring to women. Troye went into this track with the intention of breaking every stereotype ever about human sexuality, from the lyrics to the music to the music video (which is iconic). But aside from that, this is just a fun song? Nothing on Blue Neighborhood bops this hard YES I SAID IT. Also please know that ever since I realized what it's actually referencing I can't stop giggling at some moments but it's fond giggling. So yeah, I won't say much more, because this has been out and thriving for a while, but just know that I adore everything about this song. Favorite lyric: Promise me you'll / hold my hand if I get scared now / Might tell you to / take a second, baby, slow it down
