One Week Later
Lizzy's Pov
Everything is crazy at the moment. Like everything.
Ailsa and W.D are getting married tomorrow and there is still so much to be done. The flowers need to be arranged, the decorations need to assembled and I actually have to decorate the room. I would know all of this because I'm the one planning the wedding, with my great organisational skills and all. And I'm currently in a carriage going to a small cottage close to the beach where I'm meeting Ailsa, Anne, Charity, Lettie and Ailsa's younger sister, Cassandra. W.D was doing the same sort of party, at a different place of course, but with the guys - Phillip, Barnum, Charles and a few others.
They had decided, well Countess Adele had, not to see each other before the wedding. She had mentioned something about luck or something. Neither Ailsa or W.D were superstitious but it kept Ms. Adele happy and she was, sorry, is like a mother to Ailsa so yeah.
Once the carriage pulled up at the small sea side cottage, I let my dress graze the sand slightly before holding the fabric in my fists to get across to the house. It was my gold one from a while ago. But I am so excited to were my dress tomorrow at the wedding.Charity had found it in one of her old trunks at her parents house and with a bit of her magic, she fixed it up so I could have it. It is probably the most beautiful dress I will ever own and wear. And I am so excited to wear it!!!!
I pushed the door open slightly, looking around before walking into the house. I could already hear the excitement echoing through the house.
"Hello?" I called out, unsure of which way to turn to find the others. I was met with a young girl, probably no more than 15. Her blonde hair was done up into a regal bun, a strand or two framing her face. It was clear why she had styled her hair like that because hanging from her ears where two of the most beautiful earrings I had ever seen. Pearls encased in a ring of rubies.
"You must be Elizabeth! Oh, I've heard so much about you I feel as if I know you already. I think we are going to be great friends. Can I call you Eliza? Or do you prefer Elizabeth? Or Lizzy?" The little girl explained with a great deal of excitement.
"Cassie, give Lizzy some space to breath." Ailsa told the girl as she came around the corner, Cassie simply smiled. "How about you go see how the others are doing? I'm sure I heard Anne say that she wanted the recipe for the tea you made". It was more a instruction than a suggestion, but I don't think Cassandra minded. She just happily skipped away back into the party room.
Ailsa began to show me the way to the room, but stopped just few feet before we were at the door. "Lizzy, could I ask you a favour?"
"Of course, anything."
"Would you be able to keep the baby a secret? W.D and I don't want anybody to know about it before the wedding?"
I smiled and nodded, "Of course, no one will know." I whisper. Ailsa smiled as she took me into the room, announcing my presence to the rest of the group. Cassandra instantly got me some tea to which tasted amazing! The fruity taste was almost like bubbles bursting on my tongue. I will have to ask her later on if she can make some for tomorrows reception.
I couldn't help to be a tad sad about the baby. Phillip's been really good with me, giving me time and all. We've decided not to tell anyone about it, only Barnum and Charity know and we want to keep it that way. I've finally gone back into the house and moved back into my old room. And we rearranged the furniture so it was new.
"A toast!" Charity announced, waking me from my thoughts. I raised by tea cup and Cassandra came to sit next to me. "To Ailsa, may your marriage be happy and wonderful."
"To Ailsa!" We all cheered before returning to conversations. I began to talk to Cassandra, who agreed to make some tea for tomorrow, about the wedding tomorrow and the list of things I had to do.
"I could help you if you want, Ailsa doesn't want me near her dress because I tend to ruin all my clothes." She laughed softly. She quickly looked around the room, her baby blue eyes scanning the room for Ailsa before pulling me towards what I could only assume to be her bedroom.
"I've been making these, it was going to be a surprise for Ailsa's garden but we could use them tomorrow if you wanted to." She explained to me as I ran my fingers over her design.
"They are perfect, exactly what we needed."
