Anne's Pov

The split ends of the rope twisted themselves around my fingers, slowly imbedding itself into my skin, as I pulled up another sandbag. With each pull of the rope, I could feel my energy, or whatever remained of it, slip into every movement, slowly draining me. I wasn't going to sleep. I couldn't sleep. I had been up since yesterday morning and when I arrived back on the train, I just kept working. Sleep can come later. This just needs to be done and to be done quickly.

After tying the sandbag off onto a peg, I couldn't help just to stare at everything for a moment. All the ropes, everyone working. I think it's the first bit of total unity that we have had in a long while, I just hate that it had to be under these circumstances.  I feel my eyes flutter for just a second and I debate whether or not I should just close my eyes for...even...a...few...seconds....

"Tired?" Wick smiled at me, as I jerks awake with a start, and stare at him.  He also has purple rings underneath his eyes but not as defined as my own. Anyway he had had like four cups of coffee this morning. I think we're both struggling to keep ourselves awake. But i'm not going to admit that to him.

"No, I'm fine." I mutters, rubbing my eyes fiercely.

"Your lying." He poke my right arm lightly.

"Don't do that." I move my arm away and stare blankly at everything in front of us.

" What were you saying about being fine" He questions, which earned a glare from my side of the room.

"I don't need sleep right now, I need to work."  Pushing the curtain back, I slide into one of the side dressing rooms and rub the side of my neck. Wick of course follows me. "Has the central system been set up?"

"Yes. Everything is ready to go."

"Is it made to an engineer's standard or a mechanic's" I joke to him, raising my eyebrow at him. He pushes me lightly on the shoulder.  "On a more serious note, we still have a bit to do and we need to move faster otherwise we wont get it all done and this needs to go as planned."

"Everyone is going as fast as they can...." He starts before Cora runs into the room.

"They've been spotted leaving, the five of them." She breathes out, she was our watcher. Making sure to let us know how much time we have left before they arrive. Nodding my head, I look back at Wick ,once Cora leaves the room, and I can already see the worry situate itself onto my face.

"We can go faster." Wick shrugs quickly. I start to leave the room before I feel a hand on my wrist that spins me back to face Wick. He kissed me and the world fell away. It was slow and soft, comforting in ways that words would never be. His hand rested below my ear, his thumb caressing my cheek as our breaths mingled. My fingers ran down his spine, pulling him closer until there was no space left between us and I could feel the beating of his heart against  my chest.

It takes a fair bit of will power to pull away and his eyes kind of sparkled in a way that I didn't notice before." That was meant to be really romantic" He smiled.

"It was." I smile, before clearing my throat and most likely ruining whatever moment we has. "We should head back to help the others if they are going to be here soon." He just nods back to me and heads out to double check the central system and I cant help but to take a moment to bring my racing heart back to a steady pace.
