Helen's Pov

I watched from our bedroom window, watching everyone as they came and went from our house. Everyone didn't want us to know about what was going on, to hide us away, but Caroline and me knew exactly what was going on. We knew what a gun sounded like and we knew that something was already going on even before that.

Since we solved the mystery of the spy, Caroline and I had been detecting. Being just like Shewock Homes. Caroline has inly just began to read those books, I want to but Mum says I am too young and even Caroline has trouble trying to figure out the words. But we solve mysteries just like him, or them. I don't know if he is actually one person or two. Maybe it's Shewock and Homes?

"Mum and Dad have gone back to circus with everyone, they said we can just stay here and they would be back shortly." Caroline told me as she came back into the room. Mum and Dad were taking everyone back to the circus, probably to talk to them there. They know that we tend to be spies around the house. Caroline and I decided to go play down stairs, see what we could find. And if we cant find anything, downstairs is the best for doing cartwheels because it's so big. I'm sure a unicorn could fit in there.

But Caroline always likes to point out that unicorns aren't real, but that doesn't matter because I'm going to marry Santa Claus and he has reindeer and they are just like unicorns I hear, minus the horns...

Caroline likes to jump down the steps but I have so much more fun sliding down the handrail. Swooshing past Caroline, I jump off then fall down. But i'm okay. Falling is a usual thing for me, that's why I can't do ballet like Caroline can. I try to jump and then I fall over. That's why I like being the tree, it's fun and nobody else does it.

Caroline and I look around for a little bit, but there isn't much to look at. Mum and Dad seem to have cleaned up before they left. They know what we were going to do. Caroline starts to practise her ballet, but she doesn't practise getting dressed. She just does it in her regular clothes. I still look around, Lizzy told me that a good detecting never gives up, they always search for clues.

There's a few pieces of paper but they have numbers on them and I don't like numbers so I place them back exactly where they went in the first place. Although, there is one piece of paper. It's crumbled and the ink is smudged slightly, but I can read some words. They are not very good words though, nothing that really makes any sense. But maybe Caroline can read it, she is a lot better at reader than I am. But that's because she is older than I am. That's why.

There is a big knock that comes from the door and I skip over to answer it. I can just reach the door handle so I am really happy with that. I swing the door open and there is this nice lady from my dance studio. The one with the blonde hair. She tells me that she has some pastries for Elizabeth Gray as a thank you and asked if I could give them to her. She leaves not long after and I go back to the kitchen and place the pastries on the counter.

They looked really nice. There was five, no four in the box. Decorated with little fruits and sauces, they were like snacks for fairies. I look around, Caroline was in the other room and I am sure that Lizzy wouldn't mind if I had  one. I mean she is one person and Phillip makes two, so I could have one and they could share the last one. I carefully picked up the small pastry, frosted with jam and strawberries.

It's sweet and the strawberry juice ran down my chin and dropped on my dress. Mum isn't going to be happy with that, she keeps telling me that I need to be careful with y food because I keep spilling it on myself.  The strawberries had a strange tingle in my mouth but I kept eating the pastry because it was soo nice.

But I felt so sick, and everything began spin after I finished the pastry. I didn't feel much else expect the feeling of my legs giving out and the cold floor....
