Ch 33. Death and Ghosts

  Reaper didn't know why he had started sobbing or why he had gone away from the others. There was just an old weird feeling about Geno he had. He thought that soulless beings couldn't love, but surely there was proof that that was wrong. But why Geno? Reaper had helped him escape from the Save Screen, accidentally making it disappear. Geno hated looking at those words, though, anyway, so he had forgiven Reaper easily. But, if Reaper was in love, wouldn't that mean that he could still not touch anyone Geno liked? What kind of relationship would that be? Did Geno even like him back? He must; he had seemed to feel safe when Reaper held him earlier. Ugh, what was the point? You can't love death. "Reaper?" He heard his name called out. "Who is it? What do you want?" Maybe it was another idiot who was going to try to kill death. But as soon as Reaper turned around to touch the person, he saw Geno back up in the shadows. "Oh... Sorry, Geno, I thought you were a knight," Reaper told him, lowering his hand. "No, it's okay. Are you alright, Death? You just... I'm... sorry... I didn't know that Error had a kid. Well, kind of. But I'll explain later." "Yeah, I'm fine, Geno..." "Is there something you want to tell me?" Geno asked. "No..." Geno's face got slightly frustrated, and Reaper struggled to lie. "Fine, yeah." "What is it?" Geno asked. "I... Well... I wish I were part of your family too." "Aw, me too, Reaper!" "Geno..." Why couldn't he bring himself to tell him? Was it that hard? "I..." It was such a peaceful moment, and he wanted Geno to know so badly. Just tell him already, Reaper! "Geno, I... I like you..." Geno's smile faded straight off his face in surprise, and he stared up into Reaper's blank eye sockets for a moment. "S-sor-" Reaper started to say, but before he could finish, he felt Geno reach up and press his mouth to his own. His face was a blood red, but Reaper didn't blush. He just kissed Geno back, thanking the gods. Geno soon broke the kiss and wrapped his arms around Reaper's neck. "No... I'm sorry."
