Josh wakes up the next morning filled with confusion. He actually feels rested for once. How come he didn't wake up in the middle of the night due to Amari crying? He gets up out of the comfortable bed and makes his way into the tiny hallway, not even bothering to change into regular clothes.
He walks into Amari's room, just to see her not in there. His heart beat quickens in panic, and he rushes out of the room. He walks into the living room quickly and takes a deep breath. Tyler is asleep on the couch with Amari in his arms. Josh walks over to them and smiles softly. He leans down and picks up Amari gently, trying to not wake her. He kisses Tyler's forehead and whispers, "Thank you, Ty. What could I do without you?"
Josh walks over to Amari's room and puts her into her crib, successfully not waking her up. He boops her nose lightly before leaving and going into the kitchen to make breakfast. Josh opens the fridge, sighing in relief that he still has food that he can make on the stove.
He decides on bacon and eggs for breakfast, seeing as he has enough ingredients to make some for him and Tyler. Josh grabs some pans out from under a counter, sets the ingredients out on top of the counter, then sets up everything in order to cook it.
When halfway through cooking the meal, Tyler walks in yawning and stretching. He stops mid-track and stares at Josh's muscular back. Josh is still only in his sweatpants. Josh notices him finally and smiles, "Goodmorning." Tyler smiles shyly, "Hey, uh, goodmorning."
"Thank you so much." Josh grins. Tyler's really helped him a lot, and he hasn't even been here for two whole days. He appreciates everything he's done so far. Tyler quirks his head to the side, "What for?" Josh rolls his eyes, "You know what for; Amari. And me, too." Tyler pokes Josh's side playfully, "You really could use any help you get. You don't deserve to be in this alone. Plus, why would I not help? Heck, I'd help you hide a body if you needed to." Josh laughs a full whole-hearted laugh. Tyler replicates Josh's exact laugh.
Josh finishes up the food and makes a plate for him and Tyler. Josh sets Tyler's plate down at the counter island for him. Tyler thanks him and scoots onto the chair seated at the counter island. He hums in delight when he takes his first bite. "Josh, this is absolutely outstanding!" Tyler compliments, diving into his food faster and more desperately. Josh chuckles, "Thanks, I learned it from my mom!" Tyler giggles, actually giggles, and continues eating. Josh devours his food, too. "You know, it's actually good you're eating it so quickly. Usually, midway through eating a meal Amari would wake up, and you wouldn't get to finish. I've learned the hard way." Josh states. Tyler hums and nods as a response.
A while after they eat, they decide to turn on 'Frozen' while Amari lays on the activity mat. They make extra buttery popcorn as a movie snack, and sit less than an inch apart from eachother. It's always been like that, they've always been super close. They're like one person. Two souls, but one big heart.
In the middle of Anna meeting Olaf, Tyler loses his attention off of the movie and onto Amari. She giggles profusely, and pushes up with her hands in front of her, so that she sits up onto her bottom. Tyler gasps and points at Amari, catching Josh's attention and forcing it onto Amari.
Josh stands up immediately and goes and sits in front of her. Light tears roll down his cheeks as he rubs her head softly. Tyler hesitantly walks over and sits beside Josh. "She's getting so big." Josh states. He sighs and means his head onto Tyler's shoulder. "It hurts me to see her growing, I want her to stay little forever, yet I want to see all she achieves whilst growing older." Josh confesses. Tyler smiles softly and ruffles Josh's baby pink hair. "I understand that completely, Josh. It's going to be worth it all, though." Tyler reassures Josh. Josh picks his head up and smiles genuinely at him. "You help me so much. It feels like this was all meant to happen; I'd be a mess if it wasn't for you. I'd be a physical and emotional mess. The only reason I'm successful at anything is because of you. Seriously, thank you, Ty. So much." Tyler smiles at him fondly. "You're a great dad, Josh. I'm going to make you believe that. You've always been a good dad, even before I was here to help. You're always going to be successful, and that's just because you're Josh, freaking, Dun. You're an amazing person and you're great at everything. You're a natural."
