Tyler rubs his eyes with balled fists. It is exactly 6 in the morning, and Tyler has woken up; not for Amari, but for the doorbell. His sock padded feet step lightly across the living room floor and to the front door. He opens the door, immediately causing his eyes to widen and for him to become awake and alert.
"Tyler? What are you doing here?" the feminine voice states. No, this is not Josh's mom. This isn't the sweet Laura Dun. It's the complete opposite. It's the famous Debby Ryan. Tyler closes his slightly open mouth and gulps. "I could say the same to you." Tyler states. He crosses his arms, "What are you doing here, Debby?" Debby smiles, "I would like to speak to Josh." Tyler clenches his jaw, "No. Go home." Debby smirks, "It's not your house. If Josh does not want me here, Josh can kick me out himself." She hits Tyler in the shoulder with her own and pushes past him into the house. Tyler sighs and closes the door. Debby sits down on the couch, and Tyler starts to walk towards the hallway. He stops when Josh steps out of the bedroom.
"Who was at the door?" Josh questions. Tyler frowns, "I'm sorry." Josh furrows his eyebrows and steps past Tyler into the living room. He stops dead in his tracks when he sees Debby. "What are you doing here?" he questions immediately. Debby crosses her arms in her lap, "I'm here to talk to you about- does he know?" Josh fumes, "Take a wild guess, Debby. He's in his pajamas, which means he is staying here. He is helping me out, unlike you, who bailed on her. Of course he knows." Debby shrugs, "I don't know. Maybe he is just like that because you finally made a move on your best friend and got him into your bed." Tyler notices Josh's jaw clench. "I would not do that, and do not bring that up." he says sternly. Debby forces an innocent look on her face, "What? Does he not know that part?" Tyler's eyes widen, "What part?" Debby grins, "Our relationship didn't work out partly because little Joshie here is gay. He waited until I was pregnant to tell me." Tyler's jaw drops as he looks at Josh. "That is not true and you know it! Yeah, it may be part, but you didn't even want to keep Amari! You thought she was a mistake!" Josh screams. "Well, I've changed my mind. I want custody of her, and I'm going to fight for it because we never went to court when we first had her." Debby states. Josh's eyes widen, "Don't do this." Debby grins, "See you in court in three days at 11 in the morning." She waves goodbye then walks out the door with a sway in her hips.
Josh turns around to face Tyler. "I-I can't lose her, Ty." he states, tears streaming down his face. Tyler frowns and pulls Josh into a hug, "Sh, you wont lose her. We can do this together. We can win."
