Jenna dries her hands off with a dishrag before setting it down on the countertop. She walks out of the kitchen and into the living room. She's ready to walk to her bedroom, but then she examines Tyler. Tyler is sitting on the couch in their living room. His bags are right beside him. His phone lays on the arm rest.
Tyler doesn't even notice her, so he once again does what he's been doing ever since he had gotten home. He presses play on his iphone and lays his head back. Jenna listens carefully.
"Tyler, hey. I just wanted to say thank you, for everything. When you first got there you told me that you were going to make me believe that I was a great dad. I just want to say thank you because I finally believe that. Tonight made me believe that. You gave me so much hope, more than I have had recently. We did it. We won. Thank you so much, Ty. You helped get me back on my feet. You gave me hope. It was made to be this way. You were meant to want to hang out. You were meant to help me with Amari. I'm forever grateful, Ty. God, I love you so much." the voicemail says.
Jenna watches Tyler sighs and leans forward to put his head in his hands. Jenna smiles softly and walks to her bedroom. She pulls out her phone and presses the contact she needs. It rings three times before someone answers.
"Oh, my God, Jen! Hey, is Tyler there? Did he get home safely? He hasn't been texting or calling me." Josh's voice comes out of her phone's speaker. She chuckles, "Yes, Josh. He's home. I need to talk to you." Silence surrounds both of them for about a minute. "Uh, what do you want to talk about?" Josh asks hesitantly. Jenna bites her lip. "Josh, answer me honestly. Can you do that? Do you promise?" Jenna questions. Josh bites his lip on the other side of the phone call, "Pinkie promise, Jen." Jenna sighs softly, "Do you have feelings for Tyler?" Josh sucks in a breath. He's quiet.
"Answer honestly. I'm not going to be mad, i'm trying to figure out something." Jenna states. Josh answers her, "Y-Yes, Jen. I'm so sorry." Jenna doesn't cry. "Hey, it's okay. No need to be sorry. This is how it's meant to be, okay? I promise you that." Josh cries and nods even though he knows she can't see him.
"Last question, how was your guys' time there? Did anything happen between you two?" Jenna questions. Josh is quick to answer, "Nothing happened, I promise you that. Our time there was something special, though. He just helped me get back onto my feet s'all." Jenna smiles, "I heard your voicemail, he's been playing it over and over again ever since he got home. I'm gonna talk to him. Bye, J. I love you." Josh tells her he loves her and says goodbye, then they both hang up. Jenna walks back into the living room.
Tyler looks her way, a pained expression on his face. Jenna smiles at him, "Hi, Ty."
