A few hours after Shinganshina had been compromised, the news of destruction spread quickly to all quadrants of humanity's domain. All while Thea watched the Titans breach Wall Maria.

"We're all gonna be killed by Titans."

"We're finished."

"I don't want to die."

Tears welled up into the blondes eyes when the realization that she'll never be able to return home struck her. How she'll never be able to hug her mother or father, smell the food her mother cooked for her, or hear the kind words her parents would speak to her.

An overwhelming feeling spread throughout Thea as tears unconsciously fell from her eyes. The warmth from her eyes had disappeared faster than summer rain on the tarmac, the beautiful blue eyes that once represented the clear blue sky turned into a violent storm at sea. Her eyes flashed with anger, much like lightning on a pitch black night. That was when she involuntarily whispered the only thing surfacing into her mind,

"I'll kill each and every single one of them."

The Central Government decreed all mankind to retreat behind Wall Rose. Estimates were that nearly 10,000 people had lost their lives.
Thea walked towards the stand the guards were handing out food rations when she overheard Armin scream out for Eren and Mikasa from behind her,

"Eren, Mikasa! Grandpa scrounged a little extra by saying he has kids." The blond boy handed the siblings a loath of bread, seeing as he had two left over, Eren felt the need to pry.

"Whose that bread for?" Armin looked down at the remaining two loafs and smiled kindly at his best friend.

"It's for Thea! If she's still.." as Armin wandered off with his thought he couldn't help but to feel mournful, until Eren soothed his worries.

"She's alive." Eren looked towards the direction Thea stood, the trios stares went directly to her form causing the girl to look away from them rapidly. Thea's pale skin slowly turned from a ghastly white to a shade of a ripe strawberry. The warmth had now bloomed into a full blown, sweltering heat wave bursting through her pores. The blue-eyed female immediately cursed herself for eavesdropping.

In any other occasion, Thea would had joined the trio, but since the events of Shingashina, everything wasn't the same. The Titans had taken her family, her home, and her friends.

But Thea was beginning to feel more and more regret and guilt for her actions. Though it may seem like an odd analogy to some, the blonde thought what would have happened if she had stayed with Eren. Would Carla had survived? Would they all still be friends?

The girl grabbed her own rations of food and walked away from the lines, leaving behind her friends. As Thea walked away she couldn't help but to take one look last look back towards her friends, only to see Eren picking a fight with a guard.

Eren's temper was like a simmering pot, slow burning, ready to bubble up at any moment, and if you were smart enough you'd run for cover. His never-ending need for justice was something Thea admired about him, how he'd pick fights with bullies, how when he strongly believed in something he'll fight for it, even if he lost he would always get back up again. That's the reason Thea loved him. So the sight of his stubbornness let an unwilling smile lay on her lips as she turned back around and walked away.

A few days later, many refugees were put out to plough the fields. However, the shortness of food could not be resolved. The following year, 846, the locals and many refugees old enough were to serve in the military with the task to reclaim Wall Maria. Of the 250,000 sent to battle; roughly half the population of that region. Only a few 100 survived. But, all those deaths, were able to help resolve the shortage of food.
