Battle for Trost

Thea had made it to a building at a distance away from HQ before anyone but soon after her arrival they began to zip into frame. "We can't get close to HQ." Pointed out Thea, looking at all the Titans that were severely distracted by their comrades that were held inside. 

"Not unless we're willing to risk casualties." Jean finished her thought, and truly, anymore death was the last thing she wanted. Thea heard panicked panting from below her and Jean seemed to take notice as well. Below them, a cadet wield his swords in front of a Titan. He tried to zip away but his gas canister was empty. Thea tapped her gas canister and she was fully aware she still had a decent amount of gas left to be able to save him. 

But she couldn't. Thea took one step forward but her body stopped cold, her teeth clenched as she bit the inside of her cheek. 

'Fight!'

"Tom! I'm coming for you." Another cadet zipped toward the trainee in need, everyone shot pleads at him to not go, but Thea stared in fear. Was she about to witness more death?

The one that zipped to aid his friend was caught by a Titan, which made Thea bite down on her lip. Hard. The blonde did nothing as she watched not just one, but two of her comrades be eaten. While she did nothing.

"Jean." Thea called out to her friend beside her, "Do you think it'll ever get easier?"

Jean hesitated before answering, as he himself too was disappointed in not acting faster. Although it was too late, "I don't think it can."

'Why didn't I stop them?'

'I'm stronger than all of these people.'

'I should've done something.'

'Their deaths are on my hands.'

'I'm guilty..'

Thea took a deep breath in before recollecting her thoughts.

'I'm tired.'

The blonde could hear more people around them meet their horrible demise as she stood back in safety. All the pressure and guilt slowly consumed Thea until she finally reached her breaking point. Thea dared herself to launch herself onto the Titans that killed her friends, but her lack of courage tested her stronger. "DAMN IT!" Thea tried to let out a war cry but instead of words falling from her mouth, her blood fell instead. All the biting of the inside of her mouth caused wounds to open up and mouth to fill with blood. Which she simply spat out at the direction of a near Titan.

Jean took notice of all the blood and questioned her if she was okay, which she simply replied with silence. The question confused her honestly... she was okay physically if that was what he meant. But in any other form, she had her own suspicions if she was okay.

A couple more seconds had flown by until Jean seemed like he had come to a realization, "Now!" He yelled. Snapping everybody's attention towards him. Thea wiped the blood from the corners of her mouth and looked at him awaiting his orders, "We run into HQ right now!" Thea's eyes widened at him as she snapped her head back in the direction of HQ. Their were Titans flooding the place, but they were all distracted. Without any second for anyone to process anything, Jean leaped off the roof they stood on onto another roof as he began his sprint towards HQ. Thea hesitated for a second, but it was Jean's courageous action and leadership that held her hand through such a scary leap.

"You heard him!" Thea shouted as she followed behind Jean, "Let's go!" Soon enough a small horde of Titans presented themselves towards their small group, the group tried to maneuver through the horde until one caught Jeans leg. "Jean!" Thea shouted as she flew towards the Titan that held him and cut its nape while he cut its finger.
