Months have passed since Eren passed the maneuvering test. Since then, the emerald-eyed boy found it half way impossible to not steal glances at Thea every so often. Not that Thea was conscious enough to notice. But, the boy felt the overwhelming feeling and yearning to talk to her. More now than ever. He would be so close to approaching her until he would remember her lack of action to help his mom and that would immediately stop his need to talk to her.

If Thea were ever to be honest, she was the same. Last time they had spoken was when Eren asked for her advice and the short encounter made her heart reminisce of the countless of times they would stay up till late just to talk to each other. Those were the days the two ever experienced genuine fun. The glorious fun of being alive that they hadn't experienced since that day.

Today was a day off of training, sunday. Although it was a 'day-off' the cadets had chores to complete. Thea's chore alongside a couple other cadets was to clean up in the kitchen or assist in some way. Those other cadets being of course some of the people she's been dying to reconnect with, even though she was purposefully avoiding them.

"Arlert, Ackerman, Jaeger, Braus, Springer, Kirstein, Bodlt, Schneider. You're all on cafeteria duty."

'Motherfu—'

The only reason Thea was avoiding them was for the sole reason that she was scared of confrontation and was immensely awkward nowadays with them. Perhaps, she'll find it easier to talk to them, if she were to amend her prior friendships. But again, fear consumed her and she was left to her own demises.

"Why are all of you just standing here? Go!" Shadis screamed and immediately, everyone dispersed. Thea immediately going to Jeans and Marcos side. If Thea wasn't so distracted to not look at Eren, she would've caught him staring at her— with a glint in his eye that could only be discerned as a strong feeling of saudade.

"Alright, Thea, Marco and I call restocking the kitchen." Jean announced immediately once Shadis dismisses himself. Earning a few blank expressions from the rest of the group.

"Wait a minute Jean, aren't we supposed to be doing this together?" Connor protested with Sasha agreeing behind him. The rest of the group silently watched, but they also agreed.

"Commander Shadis never said anything about us having to work together." Thea responded, earning everyone's attention, "He just said to get it done."

"B-But." Connie tried to retort something back before being cut off by Eren.

"Leave it Connie. If they want to work by themselves, so be it." Eren turned his gaze towards Thea, "They're not much for teamwork anyways."

"Oi! What did you say?" As Jean picked a fight with Eren, Thea got his message loud and clear. There was no way he would ever forgive her.

"Jean!" In the midst of their heated argument, Thea called out her friend, "Let's go." Jean nodded and walked alongside Thea and Marco and left the training grounds.

At the market, Marco carefully observed the list of food they were called to go purchase. All while, Jean picked up delicious fruit and sweets that were not on the list. Thea hovered over said sweets, with a small a strand of drool dripping from her mouth.

"Fruit and Quark Pastries! Chocolate Lebkuchen! Black Forest Chocolate Torte!" As Thea continued spotting all of her favorite desserts, the more her mouth watered. Jean and Marco took note of the heart-eyed shaped eyes that had soon took place where her normal oval eyes were. Thea's state of euphoria over sweets soon ended when she reached into her pocket, "Eh? that's right.. I'm broke."
