- Death Valley; Fall Out Boy

Chapter Three:

"Hello again young one." I shivered at the voice. Once again I was pinned down and injected with ametryptaline by Tom so I was sent straight to my nightmares despite all my protests.

"What do you want?" I growled, trying to sound brave.

He laughed, his laughter bounced around the dark room. "Aw, how cute! bless you Nathan."

I frowned. I just wanted to get out of here as soon as possible. I made a mental reminder to myself that I'd beg Jay for him not to put me to sleep tomorrow night, I've had enough of this.

"I'll cut to the chase shall I?" Once again I stayed silent.

He laughed. "Well, I have something for you to do." he smirked.

"And what's that?"

I heard his footsteps echo around the room, I could feel him breathing right down my neck making goose bumps arise in it's wake. "I need you to kill someone, they did something I didn't like. I need you to get rid of him."

I quickly span around my fists clenched. "No!"

He laughed and then he was gone with his last few words echoing around my mind: 'Oh young one, but you will'.

I woke up in a cold sweat, my breathing heavy. "Jay?" I called anxiously.

I felt him move next to me, his hand holding mine his other wiping away some of my sweat and tears. "It's okay Nathan, I'm here. It's over now. Do you want anything?"

"I just need you to hold me." And he did.

"Where are you going Nath?" Tom asked me. It was only me and him in the house today.

It's none of his business.

Kill him, that'll teach him not to pry.

You know you want to kill him Nathan.

I shook the thoughts out of my head. "I'm just going out... for a walk."

"Do you need some company?"

"No I'm okay thanks." and then I left.

"Now Nathan the guy you're about to kill is called Rick; he's mid 40's, he has brown hair and green eyes, he's also 6ft tall. You'll find him at the Ritz pub." The demon spoke inside of my head.

I clutched the knife in my pocket, quickening my pace. I kept my head down and followed the pathway, I could smell the strong stench of beer. The demon recited the plan inside my head.

'Wait 'till he is leaving then follow him, he will walk past an abandoned warehouse: drag him into there then kill him.'

I waited, lurking in the shadows, watching out for him. I didn't have an image I'd just have to work with the demon's brief description of the man, I could also hope that the demon would tell me who he is.

It was 20 minutes later until I saw him walking out. I smirked, the grip on my knife getting tighter as I followed him. I trailed a little behind trying to be as discreet as possible. I quickened my pace as we neared the warehouse, I could almost reach out and touch it. The man looked to his left, then right before he himself walked into the warehouse.

Makes it easier for me, I thought.

I made sure to check that no one was about and when I got the all clear I walked into the abandoned warehouse, closing and locking the door behind me. I then pulled out my knife, creeping up against the walls to where the man-- Rick -- stood.

I could hear his hushed whispers on the phone.

"Yes, I'll be home soon. Calm down, I told you I'd be home late!" He was getting angrier by the minute. I refrained myself from making a smart comment. He then hung up and sighed heavily.

"Oh no you won't" I sang, hiding in the darkness. The man quickly span around, squinting in the general direction of my voice.

"Who are you? C-come out, I'm not afraid!"

I chuckled. "With your stuttering I'd beg to differ."

I then started to walk closer to him, my face and body becoming visible to him I smirked as I heard him gasp. "Your eyes! They're black!" He tried to step back but ended up tripping up and falling over.

"Yes, I know."

I took him falling over as my advantage. I sat down next to him, my knife on his neck and my knee leaning on his stomach, keeping him down. "Now you pissed someone off and now you're going to pay. Any last words?"

"Please...don't do this. I have a wife; a beautiful wife and two kids! I didn't mean to cheat on her again and I... Please!" He had now started sobbing, I rolled my eyes.

"You're pathetic." I sneered as I started digging the knife into his neck, scarlet blood spilling out.

I couldn't help but laugh at how pathetic he was. The sheer terror in his eyes made my adrenaline rush increase, the thrill of what was happening took over my body like euphoria. I decided I wanted to play a game with him, just like the demon did with me every night.

"Do you like riddles Rick?"

"Excuse me?"

"I said do you like riddles." He didn't answer me, he just kept looking at me in shock. "Well do you?" I asked digging the knife even deeper in his neck.

He nodded.

"Good." I smirked. "If you get this riddle right, I'll let you live. If you don't, you die."

He swallowed. "So let me get this clear: I get this riddle right, you let me live and that's it?"

"Exactly that, Rick. It seems you're on top form tonight, best make this a hard one shall I?"

It was quiet as I thought for a good and hard riddle then it came to me.

"I'm part of the bird that's not in the sky. I can swim in the ocean and yet remain dry. What am I?" He took too long to answer, I could see him struggling to look for the answer. I could see all the panic emitting from him.

"Too slow."I then slashed my knife across his neck and watched as he chocked on his blood.

"Good job young one, I'm proud."

Thought I'd update two days early bc why not!? (This is the only time I've done something early, be proud of me.)

Hope you enjoyed! Honestly I enjoyed writing this and I've been enjoying writing this book :) this chapter is over 1,000 words I made it nice and long for you all!

What do you think the demon is going to have Nathan do next? Is the demon going to make him do something else? *wink wink nudge nudge*
