My body went on alert with Lauren's polished words, I felt my heart racing, and I couldn't help but widen my eyes when I didn't detect any irony in what she was saying. I felt like a teenager entering puberty, waiting for my prince charming to notice me in the dark corner of the school. The fact is that Lauren had noticed me. She saw me when no one else did, and now I believed her when no one else did. Being Yin and Yang or not, I knew I couldn't help but be totally in love with that girl. Who would be crazy not to do it?

I turned my body to face the most dangerous death eater of all time, but to me it was an innocent girl whose heart belonged to me. I sighed as I met her eyes, now as clear as crystal clear water, they told me so many things at that moment that they easily became my favorite non-verbal spell.

"What do you mean by that?" I asked, my voice just a whisper in that room.

Lauren pulled me by my waist with both hands until we joined our foreheads without ever giving me a look of enchantment, as if I were the most beautiful work of art ever carved by a wizard.

"I don't know how this war will end, I don't know if I will survive what is to come in this prophecy, but Camila," she closed her eyes, I could feel her heart racing against mine, and then I wouldn't know which one of them was pounding against the other. "If you still want me as yours, I want you to be my wife."

I blinked a few times thinking quickly of all the directions that phrase might have.

"Your...?"

"I want you to marry me." she revealed so lightly, as if to say she was buying bananas for breakfast. With a strong thud, my heart pounded in my chest, and the fear of losing consciousness in front of Lauren was real. Seeing that I didn't say anything, she continued: "I don't want to force you to anything, of course. But I think that our fates are intertwined enough to jump off all the stages of a relationship." her right hand rested affectionately on my face, and I closed my eyes to enjoy her touch. I missed her. "We live in such a crazy world, that being around you every second is what matters."

"But we're nineteen."

"And yet, I want to marry you."

My hands made their way through her rebellious, deliciously soft hair and suddenly I was smiling.

"Don't you hate me for hiding the truth from you?"

Lauren shook her head, her eyes too closed to enjoy my affection on the back of her neck.

"I believe that both of us are wrong in this case, Camila. You for hiding something from me, even if it was for my good, and I for acting on impulse of hatred..." I didn't let her finish, the next second my lips were on hers, recovering our lost time, feeling the softness and the moisture that rose fireworks inside of me.

"So does this mean we're engaged now?" I murmured against her lips.

Lauren pushed me over the shoulders with a little violence, her eyelids growing twice as high.

"You're being crazy enough to do that?"

I smiled.

"There's love between angels and demons, vampires and humans, rich and poor, what's the problem in a member of the Order marrying a Death Eater?"

In response, I received the warmth of her arms guarding me as her most precious possession. I let my hands slide on hers back in acknowledgment as my face buried in Lauren's warm neck, I loved her with all my heart, and it wouldn't sound bad either to be engaged to Lauren Jauregui.
