Chapter 6: Awkward

Marshall's POV

"Wakey, wakey!" Leroy pulled my blanket off me making me fall off my bed.

"Go away Leroy!" I pulled the blanket over my head.

"Don't make me get Marley" glob please let him only be kidding.

"Did someone call my name!" glob no. I heard footstep rushing towards my room. Then Marley tripped and fell on me, Leroy probably tripped him.

"Get off me Marley!"

"Sorry big brother I didn't see you" he looked at me with his puppy dog eyes.

"It's alright come here and give me a hug" he came over to me and instead of hugging me he kicked me right in the boin loins. I winced in pain. Marley and Leroy were laughing.

"Good one Marley!" Leroy continued to laugh at my pain and Marley smiled thinking it was good to get his approval.

"Thanks big bro" Leroy patted Marley on the head then they walked out of my room. I got up and went to the bathroom to shower, then got dressed wearing a red t-shirt, black skinny jeans, my red and black Nike high-tops, dark gray hoodie and my camo backpack. My phone vibrated on my desk, it was a text from an unknown number. I unlocked it and read the text.

"Hey Cake said you were cool with giving me a ride to school" ~Fionna. I did a little happy dance, I was so excited that she wanted a ride from me.

"Yeah sure pick you up in 10" ten minutes? Really? I don't even have enough time to eat breakfast, oh well its worth it to be with her.

"No rush make sure you eat something before you come Marsh school doesn't start until 8:30 its only 7:30"

"Yes she called me Marsh!" I yelled forgetting I wasn't home alone.

"Who called you Marsh?" I turned around to Leroy in the doorway.

"None of your business now move I need to eat then go" I pushed him out of the way, went to the kitchen and made myself a bowl of cereal.

"If you don't mind I'm gonna text your girlfriend" I checked my pocket and realized my phone wasn't there, Leroy had it. I ran and tackled him and grabbed my phone.

"She's not my girlfriend" I went back and finished my cereal then went outside to my car.

"I'm driving you remember doofus" dang glob it I forgot.

"Fine but we have to pick someone up" he grinned evily at me then went and started up his car, I got in the passenger's seat and we took off to get Fionna. We drove in silence until we got near her building.

"That small building over there, right?" I nodded, it felt like it took forever to get there. Once we parked I ran to her apartment and knocked on the door. She answered it wearing a blue skirt that covered her knees, a blue t-shirt, knee-high socks, with black vans and her green backpack.

"Hey Marsh, who's your friend?" I turned and Leroy was leaning on the wall behind me.

"That's just Leroy my older brother he's driving us" she stood there gawking at him. I started to get mad then took her hand and went inside her apartment closing the door in Leroy's face.

"What the glob Marshall!" I pulled her close to me and kissed her, she didn't fight it and kissed me back. Then I heard Leroy's stupid laugh. Fionna pulled away and blushed.

"Hey Leroy, have we meet before?" Fionna sounded a bit confused when she said that.

"Yes we have but only once and you were three" Fionna nodded. Is she finally remembering everything?

"Fionna can we talk in private?" I took her hand.

"We actually need to go before we're late, it's already 8:15" Fionna and I checked the clock then hurried out the door to the car.

"We can talk at school besides I need to talk to you too" Fionna got in the back and I got in with her, she held my hand once the door was closed. I looked at her she she smiled her beautiful smile.

"Keep it PDA back there" I didn't realize Leroy got in and I quickly removed my hand from Fionna's. We drove in silence, Leroy broke the silence in the car. "You sure have matured since you were three Fionna" he winked at her so she could see it through the mirror, she blushed.

"Thanks, I'd say the same but I don't remember exactly what you looked like before" he laughed. We arrived at the school a few minutes later, I opened the door and pulled Fionna into the school with me.

"Ok we need to talk now. Do you remember me?" she smiled, then hugged me.

"Yes Marsh. I remember you and our first kiss" I looked at her, we kissed again until someone cleared their throat behind us. It was the two girls she was with at the mall yesterday.

"So looks like things heated up between you two" the one with the purple hair said while the one with black hair laughed.

"Marcy! Lucy! This is Marshall the guy I used to talk about when I was six" both of their mouths dropped open. Then the one with black hair slapped me.

"What the heck!" I snapped at her.

"Why would you just leave her!? She was so upset when you were gone! And btw I'm Marcy she's Lucy" she pointed at the girl with purple hair.

"I was four I didn't have a choice if I wanted to stay or not, besides I'm here now" I noticed Fionna talking to Lucy. I walked over to her and tapped her on the shoulder, she turned around to face me.

"Hey do you need something?"

"I was just going to ask if you wanted to walk to class together, I got Mrs.Pig first period" she looked upset.

"I got Mr.Trunks first period" I looked at my schedule I got through the mail, I didn't have him until 7th period. "We can talk at lunch I gotta go to class, bye" she hugged me then walled away with her friends.

"Excuse me, that's my locker there" I turned and saw a dude with light brown hair wearing a white button up shirt with a pink sweater vest, dark pink pants, and hot pink vans.

"Sorry dude" I moved and let him get to his locker. He put what I guess was his lunch in his locker.

"My names Giovanni Bubba Gumball" he put his hand out and I took it and we shook hands.

"I'm Marshall Lee Abadeer, you can call me Marshall" he smiled. This dude creeps me out.

"You can call me Gio or Bubba, I have Mrs.Pig first period and you?" I can tell he was an A+ student.

"Same, I was actually heading there now" he smiled again. Yep definitely creeps me out.

"We can walk there together as chums" I smiled awkwardly. Yeah he broke the creep out scale.

"Sure" we walked to class not exactly next to each other but we were still close by. When we got there only a few seats were open.

"It looks like we will not be sitting next to each other, it's a shame"

"Yeah real shame" thank you glob. He took a free seat near the front and I took a free seat in the back. We listened to rules and played a game to learn everyone's name, that took up most of the period the last five minutes we were free to do whatever. I texted Fionna, hope she had free time too.

"Hey how was your period" after about a minute I got a reply.

"Sooo boring meet me at my locker after the period ends it's by the north entrance" ~Fionna. I wonder what she wants me there for.

"Alright see you in a few minutes" she didn't send anything after that.
