Allen:
I can't sleep. We are supposed to be flying to Russia in about five hours. We also found out we would be staying there for three days. I guess I'll go running to clear my mind. I finished tying my shoes then looked to see where Jen put his phone. He's not here. It would be easier to take it then. I'm sure he wouldn't mind me listening to his music. I finally found his phone and headphones.
I looked at the time. 1:33 am ok I'll run for about an hour. I start to jog on the icy pavement. It was so peaceful. The night sky was so clear here. No lights to interrupt the stars. I found a path in the woods and followed. I needed to get my mind off of things. What do I do?
I stopped. Did I just hear someone screaming? I took off the headphones.
"Hello is someone there?"
Silence. I looked around to see if anyone was there. I only saw darkness. I quickly turned on the flashlight on the phone.
"Is anyone there!?"
Nothing. Shit, what do I do look for them?
I started running and yelling if anyone was there. My throat was dry and hurting from the cold air. I found a root to sit on to catch my breath. How long have I been running?
I took out the phone to check the time. It now said 2:45 am. I didn't see anyone or hear anything. I close my eyes and laid my head back on the tree. The pain in my lungs burned and my throat hurt worse.
I hear twigs snapping. I wonder what it could be. I'm sure it was nothing. Then I felt a hot breeze on my face. I quickly opened my eyes to see what appears to be some kind of big cat staring at me right in the eyes. It didn't look grown. Its eyes were orange-red and its fur was black with a few faded orange stripes. Its mouth was covered by a thick metal. Every time it breathes out the space around me felt heavier. I never felt anything like it. I have never been so scared. It was so close. Fuck how I get myself into this? It's probably still dangerous. The eyes. If it tried something I'll go for the eyes.
I realized it had a black hole in its chest with a chain. What the hell. I must be dreaming. It charged and I punched it in the face. Ok, maybe I wasn't dreaming. The hell do I do now keep punching the damn thing? It got up and looked like it was going to pounce again.
Shit. I got on my knees ready to break it's neck if it comes at me. My plan seemed stupid but hell I don't know what to do in these situations. All I could think of was don't let it get near your vital organs or our neck. I would check to see if there were any branches but I was too scared once I take my eyes off the damn thing it would pounce on me.
It started to run towards me and I got ready. I had to keep my balance and but it hard.
It jumped at me. I held my hands up one grabbing it's left paw the other grabbing its throat. It was strong. I pinned one of its paws on its side the other digging into my hoodie. I squeezed its throat tighter than with all my strength I had left I forced it to the ground. It's paw right paw almost took out my eye but I moved out the way. It got up then started to run. If it was grown I think I would have died.
A chain. How the hell was a chain coming out of its chest? Did someone put it there?
I wondered if I should follow it knowing it was a stupid idea. Oh well, wouldn't have been the stupidest thing I've done.
This time I made sure I had a good size stick.
I turned on the light from the phone and followed. Not long till I saw a small girl laying on the ground. Shit was she the one who was screaming? I ran over to her.
