LUNAR

The Full Moon

I woke up in the middle of the night sweating. The sharp pain in my chest was getting worse as I laid here. I walked to the kitchen to get some water. What was happening to me? All these years I never found out why it happened. All I can remember is screaming in pain blacking out then waking up somewhere else. 

My father would be scared of me those days. He found out what would happen and tie and lock me in the basement. He said I just sleepwalk but if that was the case why not get help or something. Every time I bring it up he gets so scared. I stopped asking him when I saw him breakdown crying. The thing about my mom doesn't seem right either. He said she left us. Was he lying about that too?

I was getting hotter. I'll go outside that should help. The cold air helped some. This wasn't normal. My chest felt heavy. I could barely breathe.

I started walking towards the hospital. My legs were weak. I fell on my hands and knees and started coughing up something dark. Was it blood? More came from my mouth as I tried to stand but failed to do so. My body was now weak. I laid there thinking I was gonna die. My eyes shut will they ever open again?

"Ok kids, did you brush your teeth?"

"Yes, momma."

"Ok good so how do you guys want a story?"

"Yes."

"No Scarlet grow up."

"Violet don't be mean. Scar if you want me to read to you I will."

"Fine, I'm going to sleep."

"Thank you, momma." 

"That must be the boys making a mess. I'm sorry Scar I will be right back."

"You know I hate you right."

"Why do you hate me, Violet?"

"Because you act like a big baby and mom and dad loves you more then she does me and Blu."

"They love us equally that's what they always say."

"No are you that dumb they are lying to us. You get all their attention and you get all their love. You like it don't you? You think you are better than all of us. You're nothing but a whiney little........."

"What was that?"

"Shut up stupid."

"Violet I'm scared."

"I said shut up."

"No Violet that hurts stop it."

"What are you? No please don't hurt me please."

"Stop it don't hurt my sister."

My body was shaking rapidly. Where am I? The last thing I remembered was laying beside my building in pain. Now I'm in the woods covered in some kind of black liquid. The liquid was starting to flake like blood on my hands. I was surrounded by it. I've seen a little before but not this much. I looked around and saw a body. What was it doing here? I stood and walked to them. I felt light head and dizzy.

"Hey, do you know why we are here?"

No answer. I kicked them. It felt hard as though they were rocks. The body flipped over and I saw a familiar face. His face was almost unrecognizable. It seemed like his whole life had been drained from him. Did I do this? I started running I don't know where I'm going but I have to get away from there. 

I saw the main building which was guarded by guards. How do I get in without them noticing? It was hard to find a way in by the main gate. There weren't any trees to cover you and the guards had excellent eyesight. I have to think of something quick.
