Hesitation

Allen:

My report about what happened early this morning seemed like a joke. I reported it anyway. I'm sure that girl would back me up. That girl. I never got her name. Maybe I would have if she wasn't pretending to be asleep. Her neck really looked bad though. No, I'm not going to think about it too much. I need to sleep.

"Hey, I got a report saying that a girl was found dead in the woods. Her death was around 3 am."

Around sometime, I was there.

"Shit what the hell happened to her Xiao?"

"Teeth markings on her neck. Her mouth was wide open. Hell, it just looks like her life was sucked out of her. It also looks like she been there for a while but no one saw her till in the morning and her body hasn't started to decompose."

Was it that thing I saw last night?

"Maybe it was that cat thing Allen saw."

Yuri looked at me waiting for me to say something damn I haven't talked this whole time for a reason.

"I don't know I never saw another person."

Damn my throat isn't getting any better.

"Well I'm going to tell Jen and Ren hopefully I can scare one of them."

Yuri left the back of the plane and Xiao sat next to me.

"Are you sure you didn't find another body?"

"Yes, I'm sure."

"Maybe that girl you saw was a witch or something."

"She's not!"

"I was just kidding I didn't know you liked her. I know she couldn't have done this. No human could have."

I didn't like her. I don't know why I felt like I had to protect her. He could be right. She was the only one out there other than me. I'll have to keep an eye on her. I closed my eyes and slowly drifted off.

"Look at you. You think your better than me don't you."

I turned around to see a guy that I didn't know.

"Don't look at me like that I'll kill you."

He has a knife. What the hell was he doing with that?

"Yuri put the knife down."

"Why Xiao-he looked at me funny."

A guy who looked Chinese walked up to us.

"Yuri come on. I'm sorry, he can be an idiot sometimes."

He put the knife away.

"Ugh fine, look at me like that again and I'll cut your eyes out."

The other guy rolled his eyes and turned to me.

"Hey, I'm Xiao nice to meet you."

Does he really expect me to shake his hand after his friend just tried to kill me?

I did it anyway.

"I'm Allen."

"I'm Allen."

Did he just mock me? He is really starting to piss me off.

"That's Yuri, my idiot brother."

Brother? As in adopted brother? Whoever got stuck with him must have had a hard time.

"Oh, you didn't say."

Yuri started to say something but Xiao stopped him by holding up his finger then pointed outside. He followed.
