Rilynn's POV
It's been a week since my parents brought me here. Colby hasn't tried to talk to me. Every now and then I will look at him and wonder why he's here. Lilly had told me that's he's very dangerous and scary but that he has a good heart. I just don't understand this place. The only person I ever talked to was Lilly when she's around. Julia won't talk to me and Sam is Colby's best friend so normally they are together. As of right now, we were walking to the activity hall for free time. I just sat on the couch and stared at the wall. I usually just think during this time but not today. I felt someone plop down next to me. I turn my head to see Colby. Great.

"Do I scare you, Rilynn?" He finally spoke to me. "No." I replied with the slightest bit of attitude. "Not even when I tell you that I have almost killed people." I could feel the smug look on his face. I looked at him as just smirked at me. What was he doing? Does he want me to fear him? The only thing I fear is my self. I watched him slowly get up and walk back over to Sam. Weird.

The rest of free time was pretty mellow. The only noises came from Josh. He kept running around. I watched him as he played. He was fun to have around. He changed the mood of this whole place. I scanned my surroundings. I looked at Sam and Colby. Sam just laughed a little as Josh kept running the same circles but Colby didn't find this funny. I could see the anger in his eyes. His breathing became heavy as he became more and more anger. I watched as Josh went in for another lap. He ran around the couch and would jump over the table and chairs where Sam and Colby sat. As soon as he jumped up, Colby snatched his hair. He slammed the once happy Josh onto the ground causing an instant change in the demeanor. He changed. He wasn't Josh anymore. That's Abby! I saw the fear in her eyes as she laid on the ground while Colby towered over her getting ready to strike again. I pushed myself off the couch and ran over to the scene. I stood in between Colby and Abby. I knelt down to Abby. "Hey. It's gonna be okay. I got you. If he's gonna hurt you then he's gonna hurt me too." I spoke softly to the young girl as I hugged her. She soon hugged back. I knew she was terrified. Her whole body was shaking. I picked her up in my arms. I turned around and Colby no longer looked angry. He looked shocked. I carried the small girl back to the couch and sat her in my lap. I hushed her.

"Rilynn?" I heard her small voice finally appear. I had never heard Abby talk before. "Yes Abby?" I simply answered her. "Thank you for saving me and Josh. I tell him not to be stupid but he never listens." I gave her a small smile.

The bell soon rang for us to go back to our room. I walked with Abby back to her room. I made sure she was safe then walked back down the hall to my room. I saw Colby entering his room next to mine. I gave him a disgusting look before entering the quiet room.

Colby's POV
I sat on bed waiting to fall asleep. My body was fighting it. My thoughts were eating at me. Why wasn't she scared of me? She didn't even flinch. She just proceeded to care for Josh and Abby. The second she got in between us my anger turned into confusion. I kept replaying it. If any other person would have done that, I would be more enraged. I couldn't ever see myself hurting her. She was different. I stopped thinking about her when I realized that tomorrow morning I was going into the soft room for 24 hours. I just slammed the body of a little girl onto the floor. I'm in deep shit. Straight jacket here I come.

Rilynn's POV
I woke up to the lights turning on in my room. I sat up and waited for Nurse Terry to enter. She came in with her smiling face and handed me my meds and water. I took the pills and stood up as she checked me for injuries.

"That was really brave if you." She finally spoke to me. I looked at her with confusion. "What you did for Abby yesterday. Not many people can stop Colby. He has hurt many of the nurses who that have tried. He doesn't have the ability to hurt you." She explained.

He can't hurt me? What makes me different than the rest of the people he has hurt. I'll talk to him about it at breakfast.

The breakfast bell finally rang. I made my way too the mess hall. I slowly approached the table. No Colby. I sat down next to Abby. She had a straight jacket on. Sarah. A nurse was feeding her breakfast. I looked away and began to eat. This was all so weird. Where is Colby?
