Fairytale stories are bullshit. They made you want to fall in love as they make you admire how a prince and a girl fall in love and then get married and live happily ever after. It was all a lie. They never showed the happily ever after lives of theirs, probably because reality was harsher than any fairy tale.
You thought you had your happily ever after when you got married to the prince you loved with your whole heart. Park Jimin wasn't a real prince, but he was way as handsome as any prince in a fairy tale. He was so caring, so loving and you knew for the fact that you would love anyone as much as you loved him.
So, you got married to the love of your life and imagined a whole life filled with butterflies and sparkling lights like fireworks. It seemed to be the happily ever after you had dreamed of. You had your first daughter, and everything seemed too perfect for you to believe. You just admired the way Jimin loved your daughter way too much, always willing to come home early to spend time with both of you.
Unfortunately, everything was slowly disappearing. Every beautiful moment were just memories in your head, that feeds you pain and more pain in your chest. Nothing lasts forever they said.
You were sitting on the couch, finger tapping on the back of your phone, lips almost cut from chowing on them for so long, and your eyes... Your eyes were fighting back tears for your own daughter who sleeping next to you. Her head on your lap while her small body outstretched on the rest of the couch.
She was so beautiful. So small and so pretty like a butterfly. She was wearing her favorite dress, the creamy dress that was filled with flower printing, and her favorite red shoes. Her hair was done in a small bun that almost looked like a pigtail. She had been so excited, so happy.
You were so angry.
You couldn't believe that he would do that to his four years old daughter. How could he break her heart like this, how could he?
It was around ten when you had put your daughter in her bed. Gladly she didn't wake up or she would have cried all the night long. She would have been disappointed to know that her father broke his promise to her.
It was past midnight when he arrived home. Jimin slowly walked into the bed, probably scared that you would wake up. Settling yourself on the bed, you switched on the light from the nightstand lamp beside you.
Jimin cursed softly, putting his hand on his chest. "You scared me."
"You are early." You said sarcastically.
"You will not believe, honey, what happened today," Jimin said, throwing his arms in the air. "It was such a busy day that I feel like dying. It is a good dying though. Or fans are so cute, they surprised us with a small event and we had to give a visit and support them. You know. Then we were busy planning for tours and practicing."
"Jimin!" You cut him. The more he said, the more you got angry. It all started a couple of years after Rena was born. He just wasn't home anymore. Coming late and leaving early. Many tours and practice that took 90% of his time. He was married to his fans, to his jobs. He was no longer yours
Your heart had been broken a long time ago. You stayed because Rena deserved to have a father. After what he did to your daughter, you just knew that he didn't deserve to be called a father.
"What is wrong?" Jimin said, softly as he slid beside you on the bed. He took your hands in his and was surprised when you pulled away, shaking your head. Now it was clear that there was something going on.
"How could you just forget about this?" You said single tear slid down your check.
"What did I forget?"
"Really, Jimin?" Your eyes widened as you looked at him speechless. "Really? Do we even mean anything, just anything to you?"
"Of course, you mean something to me. You and Rena are my whole world." He said, and you hated that he was confused.
"Really? Are we? Jimin you forgot your damn promise to Rena today. Didn't you promise to take her in a princess date to the amusement park." His face fell. His expression became pale as if he saw a ghost. Nevertheless, you just couldn't stop. You had to get out everything out of your chest. "She was excited. She told me to make her look like a real princess. She wore her favorite clothes and she was happy, but guess who broke her heart. Her father was so damn busy with his fame that he forgot about her. What about your mom? Do you know how many times she called me? You have the freaking phone to answer your mother's calls, Jimin! Damn it, are we extra in your life?"
"No!" He ran a hand through his face, shaking his head. "No, no. of course not." Reaching out for you, but you pulled away again as you got out of the bed and walked to the window on the other side of the room.
"I am sorry, I forgot. I shouldn't have... I am so sorry." You heard him saying. But that wasn't his first sorry and it was hard to believe that he meant any of this. "I will not do this again."
"Stop, Jimin. It was your daughter's birthday and you destroyed it. You don't even remember it is her birthday." You sniffed a tear. You touched your index finger with your lips, trying hard not to break down crying.
"Honey, I love you. Please don't be upset. I will make it up for both of you." Chills ran through your spine as you heard him right behind of you. His breath was tickling the shown skin of your neck. Feeling him so close, made you want to just melt in his arms and forget about everything. Forgive him and give him another chance. You loved him too much, but he...
He didn't care enough. It broke your heart.
You turned around and gave him a sad smile. "You said that last time too. And the time before that. And the time before that time before that. It had been two years Jimin. You are home rarely, and I am scared that Rena will not know who her father anymore."
"Of course, she knows me." Jimin protested. He couldn't imagine the idea of his daughter not knowing him.
"Yeah, Jimin... she knows you as her father, the idol, who is loved by everyone, who said I love you to his fans, but actually never said it to her." You inhaled sharply, your voice. "She asked me before "Does dad love me? Doesn't he want to see me?" She needs you, Jimin! And you are just..."
"I can fix this. I will be a better dad. I will be a better husband."
"Jimin, you just said that you were preparing for a new tour!! Are you going to leave your job for us? You could have done this way before all this had happened. Let's just end it here. You can focus on your job. You can focus on your fans without worrying about me or Rena. You can come and see Rena as much as you want when you are free. If you made time for her anyway. Just be a better son to your mother. She doesn't deserve it. But I... I can't live with you anymore."
"What are you talking about?" He blinked many times, looking at you as if you were an alien. You already had made up your mind, and there was no turn back.
Fairytale is bullshit. You thought. Happy ever after doesn't exist. Real life was crueler. Love is cruel. It broke your heart and the one who loves more loses. Jimin loved his work more and you loved him more than you loved yourself.
"I can't live within a house like a standby, Jimin. Let's get a divorce." You finally said it.
"Y/N, please." Jimin bit his lips, looking at you with beginning watery eyes.
"Let's break up."
