Fixing Her ⇉ Simon Minter [2]

TEN

"You're drinking! How long has this been going on?" I yelled at Simon, the injured boy sitting defencelessly on his bed.

"You could've been seriously injured last night! What in Hell were you thinking?" I cried, my eyes falling on the blond. Simon didn't even answer, his eyes departing from mine and falling to the floor. I let out an exhausted sigh and felt myself leaning against the bedroom wall.

"I'm not joking Si, what if you got yourself killed? Or worse!" I groaned, and I heard a stifled laugh. My head snapped up to see Simon's face turning red as his hand covered his mouth.

"You must be joking!"

"You sound like Hermione Granger," Simon sniggered, and I couldn't help myself as I threw a lonely shoe at him.

"You can't take anything seriously!" I hissed, and Simon seemed to calm down, his smile slipping from his face.

"Who knows where you'd have been if you didn't find your way home! What if you'd died? What if we lost you? What if I lost you?" I yelled, deeply annoyed with Simon.

Simon stayed silent as he looked up at me, his hands in his lap and eyes glued to me.

Slowly, he stood and stepped towards me, leaving me unable to move with my back to the wall.

"You'd never lose me."

I didn't get any time to answer before Simon's lips were on mine, his cast unfortunately digging into my own nose.

His lips weren't as rough as I remembered, they were soft and plump against my own. I couldn't help melting into the kiss, even if it was only for a second, it just felt so right.

As I felt Simon place his hands around my waist, I placed my hands on his shoulders and gently pushed him away, his eyes opening and face contorting into a frown.

"We can't. I'm sorry," I breathed before slipping out from between the wall and Simon and racing out of the bedroom.

I took a deep breath as I walked forward and leaned on the railing of the floor, closing my eyes.

Kissing him felt right, like we were meant to be. But it felt like that last time, and he broke my heart.
