We finally arrived back at Card Universe at the dead of night. The kids had already made their way home safely and it was just the two couples, Edge and Tora, Skye and I. "Say, you don't mind if we stay with you do you?" Skye asked as she stepped out of the way and let Tora unlock the door.

"No, it's not a problem at all." Tora told Skye as she held the door open for the three of us.

We all stepped inside and Edge reached for the light switch, flicking it on and temporarily blinding me. I Instinctively covered my eyes with my elbow and let out a groan. "You alright there dude?" Edge said, putting a hand on my shoulder. "Yeah, just caught off guard." I assured him as I slowly removed my elbow from my face and stepped forward.

"It's so weird seeing this place empty, huh?" I asked Edge, looking around with an uneasy feeling like I was being watched. "Yup, no customers. It's a scary thought." I turned around to look at Tora who actually shivered. We all sighed before Edge gently shook my shoulder and held up his deck. "Ah, right. Let's do this." I smiled and walked over to a cardfight table where we both placed our starting vanguard down and started shuffling.

"So how long has it been since we've last fought?" Edge asked, setting his deck down on my side, and I did the same. "I think four months ago? And didn't you win that battle?" I told him, making him laugh and grab his deck back, "yeah, I did didn't I." We drew our starting hands, studying them carefully.

"I'll send three back." We both said, placing the cards in the middle and reshuffling.

"Stand up! My vanguard!" We both yelled.

We both stood face-to-face on the surface of Cray, the glowing symbol below us as our clan symbol circled us.

"Rise up! Fullbau (5,000)!" The Dark Paladin symbol crashed into him and he transformed into a dog.

"Shine Forth, Rising Lionet (5,000)!" The Gold Paladin symbol crashed into me and I transformed into my lion.

The bottom card of our deck appeared in front of us, showing the other what grade it was.

"Looks like I'm taking the first move. I draw!" Edge yelled as six cards appeared in front of him.

"I'll ride Blaster Javelin (6,000) and then use Fullbau's skill, since Blaster Javelin rode this card I add Blaster Dark to my hand." Dark Paladin's symbol crashed into him once more and a card floated down from the sky. It spun around to reveal Blaster Dark and then returned to it's normal position.

"Blaster Javelin gets another two thousand if Fullbau is existing inside the soul." The number six thousand appeared in front of Blaster Javelin before it glowed green and rose to six thousand. "The turn is over."

Edge: Damage: 0, Hand: 6, Soul: 1.

Star: Damage: 0, Hand: 5, Soul: 0.

Star's turn
...

"I draw." I said as all six cards existing in my hand floated down. "Riding Knight of Morning Light, Horsa (7,000)." The Gold Paladin symbol crashed into me and gold sparkles rained down as I stood there wielding my axe.

"Calling Rising Lionet to the bottom middle and using him to boost my vanguard. I attack your vanguard (12,000 vs 9,000)."

I raised my axe to my side, ready to strike. "I won't guard." Edge said in response, raising his javelin. I smiled and jumped forward, hoping to catch him off guard, "damage check!" I yelled, awaiting the card.

The card floated down and spun around repeatedly, "no trigger." The Holy Mage, Alessia disappeared and my axe caught Edge's side, sending him tumbling to the left. "I end my turn."
