*Clair's turn*

"I draw." One of Clair's cards started glowing, and when she revealed it it turned out to be a Lava Flow Dragon. "Generation Stride!" The bubble appeared once again, but when it blew up this time there was a knight waiting for Ralph, one Ralph never saw before

"Golden Flame Dragoon, Kasai (fan-made)." Clair said, flipping one of her damage face down and flipping another copy of Dragoon face up. "I pay his cost and now you select two cards from your hand and call them." Clair explained, waiting for Ralph to pick.

"First thing, is that a new card?" Ralph asked and was quickly answered by Clair saying, "yup, came from the new Flaming Empire set." Ralph nodded and looked back up at it.

Kasai was tan, wearing stereotypical heavy knight's armor that was made of pure gold and a flame pattern licking it up. His lance was a head taller than him and it had a small flame dragon wrapped around it.

"I call Dragonic Overlord the X and Emperor Dragon Knight, Nahalem from my hand in the top left and top right." The dragon and the Knight appeared next to Destiny, and Ralph pondered his first next move.

"Calling Jannet (4,000) to the bottom middle and Dragon Knight, Nadel (7,000), plus Dragon Knight, Mbudi (9,000) to the left column." When Clair did all that Kasai began glowing red and flames started falling off his body.

"Wait, does that card have blazing?" Ralph asked, stunned and Clair nodded, "correct." Is all Clair gave him.

*Battle Phase*

"Jannet boosts Kasai in an attack against the vanguard (30,000 vs 11,000), then Jannet's skill allows me to shove him into soul and draw a card, then select a vanguard and give it five thousand power (31,000 vs 11,000)." Ralph narrowed his eyes and dropped a copy of Monica in his drop zone, "nullify."

Clair nodded and flipped over her top three cards, one of them was Jannet which she gave to Mbudi, Dragonic Blademaster, and Lava Flow Dragon.

"At the end of the battle that Kasai attacked all units called with his skill is retired." Kasai slammed his lance into the ground and pillars of flames erupted from the ground, causing Nahalem and The X to vanish.

"Nadel's skill, when units are retired from an effect and my vanguard is blazing I can countercharge one and it gains four thousand (7,000 + 4,000 = 11,000)."

"Nadel boosts Mbudi and attacks the vanguard, then the skill of Mbudi, if my vanguard is blazing and I achieved GB-2 I can counterblast one and draw a card, then he gains two thousand for each open rearguard circle you have (2 × 5 = 10) (10,000 + 14,000 = 24,000)."

"Attack (36,000 vs 11,000)!" Ralph gripped a card in his hand and revealed it to Clair.

"Generation guard." Ralph called upon the power of his Denial Griifan, counterblasting one and retiring Nadel so Mbudi lost his boost (24,000 vs 26,000). Ralph let out a sigh of relief and looked at his hand, "man, you sure play aggressive, my turn."

Ralph was unsure of what he was supposed to do here. Clair had more than three times the cards in her hand, and it wasn't like Ralph had a lot of options. It was totally up to this draw.
