Turn 5: The Ride There

Edge stared out the window of the onyx colored limo owned by his friend, Ezekiel. To the right of Edge sat Star, his hair finally down from his standard ponytail and covering a good potion of his sleepy face. Skye was passed out from the long drive, laying her head on Star's lap, she looked as peaceful as ever and she smiled as Star ran his hand through her hair softly. On the opposite side of the limo sat Ralph, Shun, and Jacob. Shun had his head on Ralph's shoulder as the two kids let out light snores, meanwhile Jacob was content with a book called 'Nobody Walks' by Dennis M. Walsh. Robyn had passed out on the seats closest to the middle of the limo, having a calming aura around her like everyone else.

"So what do you think it'll look like?" Edge snapped out of his daze and turned over to his girlfriend/boss, Tora Zodiac. "Personally, I hope it's at least big enough for all of us. Star was planning for only Skye and himself after all." Edge answered as he turned over to the teenager. "Well, I at least hope they have air conditioning. Otherwise we'll suffer." Tora brought up as she started to fan herself. She was right though, it was the middle of summer and each year it seemed to crank up the heat.

"Yeah, I hope so too." Edge leaned back and brushed his messy hair back, while Tora shifted around uncomfortably. "You look so weird without that duel layered hair of yours." Tora commented as she brushed large chunks of it away from his face. "It's this damned heat, it's making all our hair droopy, I bet Star is going to suffer though." Edge said with a chuckle as he noticed Star's chest raising and falling at faster rates. "Truly. I don't understand why he hasn't cut it yet?" Tora thought out loud, curling up next to Edge.

"I have no clue either. We'll just have to ask him when he wakes up..." Edge let out a big pause before looking down at the content Tora, "who'd you even get to watch the shop while we're gone anyway?" Edge started back their little heart-to-heart with a simple question, if there was one thing Edge knew about Tora, it's that she never left the store unattended. "A couple of friends of ours. I bet they'll rack up the money while we're gone too." Tora answered with a wide smile and an evil look in her eyes.

Edge let out a deep sigh before wrapping his arms around his beloved and stared out the window with her. "It's beautiful ain't it?" Tora said as the golden sun rise above the distant mountains and beamed down onto the crystal blue lake on the shore, reflecting the gold back. "Sure is." Is all Edge said as he stared out the window, "it feels like forever since we've had a break. Between school, trying to repair the damages of Dark Union, and running Card Universe. It seems we don't have any time for nice things." Edge nodded in agreement before closing his eyes.

(A few hours later)

When the entire crew finally awoke from their slumber they noticed the limo had stopped and the sun was already high in the sky. "How long have we been out?" Star asked as he flipped his hair back behind him and worked on putting it into another ponytail. "Maybe around seven to eight hours." Jacob answered as he laid his book down and stretched his limbs. "Why didn't you try to wake us up?" Ralph asked as he lazily looked around the interior. "It's because all of you guys looked so peaceful. I didn't want to disturb any of you." Jacob shut the door behind him and went around the back to help out Ezekiel with the stuff.

"Well, we're here Star, might as well help out." Edge said as he offered a hand to help Star up. Star gently pushed Skye out of his lap before taking Edge's hand and stepping out of the car, immediately burning up. "You okay Star? You look like you've just been hit with a heater." Edge said with a smile across his face as they made their way to the back of the limo, "Well. Let's just say that if I wasn't fully awake before. I am now." Star replied as he tossed up his heavy hood and wrapped the cloak tighter around himself.

Meanwhile, back inside the limo with the rest. Tora had finally woken up with the help of the sun's outlandish heat. She let out a quick yawn before standing up and stretching herself awake, "come on people. You better get up now." Tora said as she went around shaking the rest of the people awake. "Can you give us at least a couple more minutes? It's been a long ride." Robyn said as she turned around and buried her face in the armrest, which probably wasn't comfortable in the first place.

"Sorry Robyn, but you wanted to come in the first place. We all did, so we probably shouldn't mess this up for Star." Tora explained as she pulled Robyn into a sitting position and shook her, side to side. "Alright, I get it. Just give me a few seconds." Robyn replied as she slid out of the limo and bent over the nearby railing.

Tora then turned her attention to her next couple of victims, Ralph and Shun, and gave a devious smile. She picked up one of their fallen water bottles and tossed it in the air for a bit. "You two have five seconds to get up." She warned the two while also tapping their heads with the bottle. Tora slowly counted down, but before she could get to five she felt someone touch her shoulder and pull her outside.

"Let the kids sleep for a bit longer." It was Skye, but her hair was all messed up and she looked tired and messy. "Fine, but only because you invited me and Edge here." Tora tossed the bottle into a nearby recycling bin and crossed her arms, leaning back on the limo. "So are you feeling alright Skye? You don't look so good." Tora asked as she noticed Skye's rapid breathing, slumped posture, and baggy eyes. "Yeah, it's just I've been preoccupied for a while." Skye told her as she pushed her glasses up and rubbed the bridge of her eyes. "Anyway, I'm just glad you're here. The trip will be a lot more fun with you guys around." Skye said in a flash cheery voice. "Um? Yeah something is definitely up with you Skye. Maybe we should get you inside."

Tora called over Robyn and asked for her help to guide Skye inside. "Listen you two, I'm feeling fine. Maybe a bit tired, but nothing I can't handle." Skye told them before storming off. Robyn and Tora looked at each other with worried expressions before jogging after her.
