Jax POV
I shuffle out of the room, taking a quick glance behind me to see conflict written all over my mate's face.
I don't want to make her confused and I didn't think she would really need to think about it, I hurt her and I believe I deserve to be hurt 10 times harder. In my view if a guy, let's say Xander, hurt me by bashing me when I was defenceless, even though he is my Best friend I would so hurt him back when I got the chance.
Is that just me or do other people see that as well?
I lean against the wall and listen in on my mate as she breaths, mutters incoherent words to herself and paces the room.
After listening to her do all of this a couple of times, my heart hurts. I don't want my princess to be worried or confused that just makes me guiltier, so I stride into the room and she looks up as I enter.
I go towards her and on instinct she steps back, a sharp pain hits my chest as she keeps a distance between us. I open my mouth to say something to sawy her mind but she beats me to it.
"Okay. I have decided what I am going to do," she states.
"Yeah what is it?" I question my nerves rising.
"I will fight you, in front of the whole pack. Either one of us taps out or we just keep going, until we are unconscious." Valerie looks at me, waiting for my reaction.
Her plan is brilliant it fits both of us, she doesn't want to hurt me to badly and I want her to at least try, and even if she doesn't hurt me heaps if I lose I will be under her which will be awesome. In a weird way.
"Love it." I exclaim and she smiles softly at me before kissing me.
I lose myself in her touch, her smell and in her, she is so beautiful and strong.
She pulls back as I go in to kiss her again, I pout and she laughs before giving me a quick peck on the lips. My mate then looks me straight in the eye and says plainly, "I have already chosen a date that the fight will be held, which is in 1 and a half weeks, and contacted Xander through the mind link."
I laugh at how straight forward she is and she pushes me away, huffing with an adorable pout on her soft lips.
I kiss her again and we walk downstairs, hand in hand.
9 days later, 1 day until fight
Val POV
I groan as the light hits my eyes, blinding me for a second. I then lay back down, wanting to stay asleep forever or at least sleep like a sloth.
Just as my eyes drift shut again a wave of sickness overcomes me and I run to the bathroom, I think I might be sick, I have a temp and keep throwing up.
I throw up the dinner from last night and groan as Jax rushes into the bathroom, washer in hand. I go to stand and push him away when he rubs my back and I still as it soothes my sore muscles.
"My beauty you know you aren't getting rid of me that easy, do you want to go to the doctors today? Please go." My mate looks down at me his eyes pleading for me to go, as I have put it off the other times he has asked me.
"Argh fine, only cos I want to get better so I can beat you tomorrow," I state and he chuckles helping me out of my clothes and turning the shower on.
"Will you be good while I go get you an appointment? I will be back in a couple of minutes. If you need me just call," Jax kisses me lightly before striding out of the room.
I hop into the warm shower and my tense muscles relax, I'm so tired and don't feel hungry but at the same time hungry. It is really annoying.
Just like he promised, Jax returns 5 minutes later just as I step out of the shower. He passes me my dressing gown not without checking me out quickly before his eyes snap to mine.
"So we can go to the doctors now, if you like?" He inquires rubbing my hand.
"Yeah sure, just let me get changed and we can go." I walk out of the bathroom slowly, I open the closet and grab tights and a grey t-shirt.
I grab my coat and we walk downstairs, I didn't actually need the coat as the doctors is located in the pack house, I am just cold.
As we walk in to the doctors office I shiver out of anxiousness and because of the cold gust of wind that met me.
The doctor is a middle aged women, she is around 1.70 m tall with hazel eyes and a kind face. I relax slightly and sit down on the table, Jax then sits down on a chair and watches with cautious eyes, his eyes never leaving me.
"Hello I am Dr Barnes and I just wanted to run some tests and get a blood sample if that is okay?" She questions and I nod, breathing in slowly.
She takes my blood sample and gives it to a nurse before running some other tests. I fiddle with my hands the whole time, looking at Jax every now and then.
I jump as she starts to talk again after finishing the tests, "Okay I have the results and some important news."
"Yeah what is it?" Jax questions standing up.
"There is good and bad news, which do you want to hear first?" Dr Barnes replies, worry lacing her voice.
I look up at my mate as he looks back at me I then think for a minute before replying quickly, "The bad news please."
"Okay well..."
