"Good morning Mum," I mumbled as I staggered tiredly to the living room for my usual cereal breakfast.

"Oh my God Xave, come over here! Come read this article!" Mum gestured at the morning paper, frantic plastered all over her face.

It better not be about the 50% discount on the kitchenware again. Mum loved blowing such things out of proportion.

I read the newspaper article, it was titled 'Young teenage girl found dead in car park' with an accompanying photograph of a cordoned off area.

'Diana Choo, a student from Crestbridge High was found dead in car park Block 101 at 2am. She was found suspended on a rope from the ceiling and her death is ruled as a case of suicide. Diana is believed to be active in the Blood Eagles and is suspected to be involved in several gang activities around the area. Investigations are still ongoing.

Her family was not aware of her involvement in the gang and expressed that Diana did not show any signs of suicidal behaviour before her unfortunate death. Both Diana's parents, Mr and Mrs Choo refused to be interviewed.'

This wasn't a suicide, it was definitely a homicide! There was no way Diana had plans to kill herself, especially not after all that I've tried to do. I gave her a reason to live, and she was perfectly fine just two days ago. The Blood Eagles must have wanted her dead for some reason; just like the nightmare I had the night before. I had to do something, I had to bring the murderer to justice!

"Xave darling, do you know her? She's from your school. Such a pity, she's such a young girl with a bright future ahead of her..."

"Mum, I've got something important, I've got to go now," I grabbed my backpack and headed straight for the door.

------

I arrived at Crestbridge High a whole twenty minutes ahead of assembly and I made a beeline for Mr Lee, our discipline master's office. There were several police cars parked along the road of Crestbridge High, which were for the undergoing investigations I presumed. I rushed through the glass office doors and saw Mr Lee in conversation with a few policemen at his work desk behind the counter. As I tried to pass the counter to Mr Lee's desk, the secretary, Mrs Lim stopped me.

"Sorry darling, Mr Lee is busy at the moment. I'm afraid you'll have to wait," Mrs Lim pronounced in her usual overly-sweet voice.

"It's regarding Diana Choo's death, it's important. Her death was a homicide, not a suicide!" I cried out.

The policemen engaged in conversation overheard my interjection and turned to face me. "Who are you boy? And what makes you say that?" they made their way over to me with Mr Lee behind them.

"I knew Diana Choo, I was her friend. I last saw her on 11th April and she was fine then, and I believe she had no reason to kill herself. It must have been a homicide, the Blood Eagles must have wanted her dead and set up their murder to look like a suicide to escape the law!" I rationalised.

"Calm down young man. We only look at evidence. Do you have any evidence of why the Blood Eagles would have wanted Diana Choo, a mere student, dead, besides the fact that she was in the gang?" the policeman spoke matter-of-factly.

I knew that someone was after Diana, because of the dream I had! But it wasn't as if I could use that as concrete evidence. Daniel's response to me was a good enough example for me to keep my mouth shut.
