Gaara's POV

"It's really nice outside, don't you think, Kankuro?" I ask as we walk through the forest.

I look over to see my brother swatting away bugs flying around him, "yeah, but there's a bunch of bugs everywhere, yuck!" I give him a small smile. Despite that, it's a very beautiful day and I thought I would go on a walk since it was my day off. We were staying in the Tanigakure, the Village Hidden in the Valley for a Kage business meeting.

"I told you that you could just stay in," I say to him. "I think I can manage on my own, brother."

"And leave you to get ambushed out here? No way, I'm a strong shinobi! I can deal with these bugs!" He proudly shouts as a fly lands on his face. He notices this and slaps his cheek pretty hard, but the fly manages to get away before his hand can make contact with it. "God damnit!"

I give him a sympathetic smile.

As we walk a little more ways, I notice we are coming to the end of the forest and onto an open field. That's when I feel several familiar chakra signatures, and so does Kankuro.

Out in the open we see an old brick house sitting right in the middle. I start to walk twords it, but my brother stops me, "Garra, hold up what if it's an ambush?"

"Don't be silly, Kankuro. You already know who they are," I brush his hand gently off my shoulder and drag him along.

Suddenly I see a couple of people walk out of the house, all I recognized immediately, especially the one in the orange outfit. I wave over at them as we walk closer.

"Hey that's Naruto! Hey Naruto!" Kankuro yells at them.

Finally noticing us, Naruto and yells back with a huge grin on his face, "Kankuro?! Gaara!! Hey over here!"

"Gaara! What are you guys doing over here?" Naruto asks excitedly with a big smile as we made our way to them.

"We were just out for a walk, I see you've finally come back to Konoha?" I half ask with a genuine smile. It's always a pleasure to see Naruto and the rest of Konoha 12.

"Yeah! How's being a Kage? You know one day I'm going to be Hokage!" Naruto yells confidently. He's definitely has changed, but I guess some things don't, I'm happy he hasn't lost sight of his dream.

"We're actually here on a business trip in Tanigakure. What are you guys doing here?" Kankuro asks for both of our curiosity.

"We're here on a mission," Sasuke answers.

"Sasuke, I see you have also come back to Konoha, how have you been?" I ask him kindly.

"Good," He quickly replies. Like I said, somethings never change.

I give a warm smile, "good."

"Come, we're just about to head back to the others over there," Shikamaru points to the other side of the forest opening opposite from where we came from. I look over to see a few other familiar heads pop out from the trees.

Kankuro goes to put an arm around Shikamaru's shoulders, "Shikamaru! What's good my man? My sister's been talking about you non stop and it's driving me up the walls!"

All eyes land on Shikamaru who's face is beat red. "Kankuro," I say trying to stop him from embarrassing the poor ninja any further.

"What?" Kankuro looks at the others and makes an 'o' with his lips. "Yikes... my bad?"
