LUCIFER'S VACATION
CHAPTER ONE

I deeply sighed before sitting on my throne.

A throne made with nothing but grief from people who never believed this kingdom was real. Can my life go even more exciting?

Aww, Sino bang niloloko ko?

This can't even be called a life. I'm just existing for these souls.

I leaned back and rested my chin on the back of my hand, looking down at those miserable souls that were pleading to me to forgive and set them free.

I grinned sheepishly. Idiots! Ako ba ang may kasalanan kung bakit sila nagdurusa? The only thing I did was I'd suggested ideas when they're still living their lives in their flesh suits and nothing more. They even loved it so, their fault, not mine.

I licked my lower lip then yawned.

I'm actually tired of this routine. It's not even challenging like what it used to be. Para lang akong nanguya ng chewing gum with the same flavor all over again. Nakakasawa.

After yawning for who-ever-knows-how-many-times, a filthy rat came in passing by my throne. I looked at it intently and smirked when I noticed it's striking red eyes. Rat jokes again, eh?

An idea popped inside my mind.

“I suddenly want grilled rat for dinner.” I raised the volume of my voice, assuring that the rat would hear it.

Tumayo ako mula sa aking pagkaka-upo. I raised my left foot at akmang aapakan ang daga, kung daga nga bang talaga siya.

Nang akmang lalapat na ang talampakan ko sa munti niyang katawan ay bigla itong naging ahas.

I raised my right eyebrow then yawned again. It's been a common comedia plot I used to see in Roman roleplays back then. I sat back as I watched the snake turned into a crow. The crow slowly grew legs and it's wings turned into limbs. It's beak deformed. Teeth are continually popping out from it's gums. His tiny bird-head grew bigger and pair of horns came out from his forehead. Now, he's completely turned into his original form.

Nothing's exciting here. Wala nang bago.

“Are you really trying to kill me, My Lord?” tila gulat na gulat na tanong niya sa akin.

“I won't. I just want to try tickling you with my foot.” I answered with thick sarcasm.

I grinned when I saw irritation written on his face. My, My, sa ilang ulit na niyang nagawa ang panloloko niya sa akin bilang daga. Mukha bang tatalaban pa ako?

He hissed before turning his back at me. “I'll come again tomorrow. I'm going to visit the mortal world for awhile. You're no fun.” he said.

He turned himself into a crow again. Then flew away.

Mortal world? Hm... It's been awhile since I visited that place.

I rubbed my chin as I think of a great idea while looking at the flying crow.

And a very brilliant idea popped in my mind.

I looked at the crow again. Well...

“Cerberus, close the gate!!” my voice roared across the whole place.

My dog closed the Hell's gate before the crow can pass. I looked down. All of them were looking at me with confusion.

Ah, silence...

But then I remembered that these souls must be tortured nonstop. I glared at the demons and snapped my fingers, and in a cue, they continued whipping and torturing the sinful souls. The noise came back again, cries, agonies and pleads.

Nag-angat na uli ako ng tingin. I used my index finger and signalled Jerry, the shape shifting demon, to come over.

Ilang segundo pa siyang nasa hangin na parang nagdadalawang-isip pa kung lalapit siya o hindi. In the end, lumilipad pa rin siyang bumalik dito.

I stood up with authority as I crossed my arm over my chest. I love to look very intimidating.

Tamad na tamad ang bawat pagaspas ng kaniyang pakpak hanggang sa makalapit siya sa akin.

“What now, My Lord?” he asked lazily.

“Go back to your form. I don't want to talk to a crow.”

Marahan niyang tinango ang munti niyang ulo. Tinalikuran ko siya at muling naupo sa trono ko.

Pagharap ko, siya ay nasa tunay na niyang anyo.

I looked at him from head to toe.

“What's on your mind, Lucifer?”

I licked my lower lip. “Don't call me by my name and shut up for a second. My intellectually intelligent mind is on work.”

He just sighed and whispered something like, “Boastful as ever” but I didn't really hear it kaya hindi ko na pinansin.

I clasped my hands together. “So Jerry...”

“My name's Jeremiah, Lord.”

“I know. What did I say?”

“You called me Jerr——”

“Yeah. So Jerry, I need you to do a job for me...”

He rolled his eyes and exhaled harshly. I snapped my fingers. Nag-apoy ang buong ibabang bahagi ng katawan niya. He fell down on his knees and screamed with pain.

That's seventh arc's fire for you, idiot.

“Shape shift and copy me.” I stated.

The fire started to crawl up to his upper body. “Stop!” he screamed louder than ealier.

I rolled my eyes and snapped again. Napalitan ng usok ang apoy saka unti-unting naglaho.

“That...” he coughed “that almost... killed me.” halos pabulong niya nang saad.

“Oh, come on, it's not like it's the first time you experienced it. Get up and do what I said.”

“What do you mean, My Lord?” with his knees shaking, he tried to stand. I sighed and looked at him with my you're-so-idiot look. Is he even listening earlier?

“Copy me. My appearance. Shape shift and be 'me'.” I tried to calm myself and talked to him in a calm tone.

I didn't imagine in my whole existence that I'll ever ask someone to do something for me just because I don't have any ability to change my appearance unlike this dimwit.

After a couple of seconds, he finally broke the silence between us. “You mean to say that I'll be you? What for?”

“Just for a day Jerry.” I signalled him to come closer and he did. “I'll be going to the mortal world and I need someone to replace me for a while I'm gone.”

His eyes widen and looked at me with disbelief. “My Lord! You are forbidden to leave this place!”

“Lower your voice, you idiot!”

I grabbed his horn and pulled him closer. “You should act, think or at least talk like me while you're pretending to be me. No one should know that the real Lucifer is on his vacation...” I whispered with a stern voice. “Or I'll throw you off to the seventh arc.”
