Once Remi opened the box, notes just came pouring out. "I'm surprised they didn't come out sooner," she chuckled and looked down to the Somber who was sleeping against her right thigh. She smiled at it and began to open the notes. She noticed they all had a number on them, "So...I have to read them in order...this is going to take me all night."

A small Lucent the size of the Somber popped in on her and the young Somber as Remi read the notes. It resembled Remi in her monster form, which was rare. Remi's emotions were all over the board as she read them. She was heartbroken, sad, angry, happy, joyful and even more. Shiloh's notes were like a story to her. He had told her about his school and how it was there too. He had written that he was one of the smartest kids in his class, but he kept it a secret, because he was a huge sports jock and it was frowned upon. She kept reading and time went by so quickly that she didn't realize it was almost morning if the next day.

Remi was down to the last note and it was almost like a cliffhanger to a really good, but long book. She could feel her features slowly creep up and reveal themselves as the sun slowly rose. That was when she heard the doorbell. She threw a blanket on, leaving her room scattered with notes and made sure to cover the top of her head and back. She ran to the front door and opened it, seeing an older Shiloh standing in front of her. His hair was cut short, but his brown eyes were still the same. He was shocked to see her standing at the door, "Good to see you," was all he said. His voice was a little deeper than three years ago, but she knew it was him.

"I'm really sorry, Shiloh. I--" she was cut off by an embrace from Shiloh. Her blanket had flown off and her features were showing. She wasn't sure what to do, so she just stood there, frozen in shock.

"You don't have to apologize, Remi. I'm just glad you're okay. It was a long three years, but I'm glad I got to see you before school today," he told her. "There is a game today, the last football game of the season and I would love it if you came to watch. It's a seven, so the sun should be down by then," he chuckled. Shiloh picked up her blanket and wrapped it back around her with a smile. "Here, I was hoping you would wear this tonight. It's my away jersey, so I won't need it back before the game. I hope to see you there," he said, handing Remi the jersey and another note. "Have a good day," his cheeks were crimson and he looked past Remi to see her parents standing behind her, with a smile on their faces. "Lovely to see you again, Mr. and Mrs. Owens." Shiloh put his attention back to Remi, who still stood there unsure of what to do. She could feel her teeth growing and her body wanting to shift. Shiloh smiled and stepped away from the doorstep, leaving the house. Remi closed the screen door and as soon as he turned around, facing the street, she shifted to all fours. She looked like a sad puppy, watching her owner and best friend leave. Her shift was a beautiful strawberry blonde wolf like creature with two tails, deer antlers and her teeth were too large to fit inside of her mouth. She had a scar the right side of her face that went from her eye to her chin, but it didn't appear when she was human.

"Come Remi, you need to get some sleep if you are going out tonight," her mother spoke.

'Did he just not notice any of my features when my blanket came off?' She thought to both of her parents.

Her father shook his head, "Most people don't see Sombers or Lucents, because they don't believe in them anymore. Shiloh is one of those people," he replied.

Remi grew confused and she thought back to one of the notes she had read, talking about how his monsters haunted him since he was younger. 'Dad, please don't lie to me...again. That's not true, you did something so he wouldn't see my true self, didn't you.' She growled. 'You are keeping secrets from me.' Her fur turned black and she grew about five more tails. Her antlers turned sharp and she had learned a very important thing that she never knew about until that moment. Remington Owens was a monster that, no...the monster that haunted Shiloh Peaks.
