The Somber bellowed a laugh, his large antennas pulled him back and Remi was in screaming pain, trying to shift during the night, "You are weak, young one. You will never be able to shift during the night," he hissed. "You tried this ten years ago, and you were weak then. You will always be weak, Guardian Demon Princess Remington," he taunted.
"Shut up," Remi hissed through her teeth, as she continued to try. "I am royalty. My parents gave me up for my own safety! For the kingdoms safety! I am strong and you're not the one to stop me from living my life here and being happy! That's what my parents wanted!" she screamed, her Lucent forms tails slowly emerging from her tail bone. Her ears formed to tips and fur sprouted from them. Antlers began to sprout from her head and she slowly shifted to her Lucent form. "I am strong, and you are going down. Tell my parents I love them when I send you back to Somber Cove," she growled. A golden aura appeared around her whole body and she felt stronger. She glanced to her father's room and noticed a golden aura in the room too. Remi growled and lunged at the Somber, taking him down in one leap. 'I am stronger...what's going on?' She shook her head at the thought to get her back on track. Her eyes darted towards her father's room and she saw Shiloh peeking out the window through the closed blinds. He had a golden aura around him, just like she did.
"You're distracted, I can tell," the Somber commented and flipped Remi on her back, holding her down with one large talon. She struggled to get free, pain throbbing through her whole body. "I will destroy you, Princess. If it's the last thing I do," he squaked before turning to black smoke and dissolving into the thin air.
Remi laid there, slowly turning back to her human form. She could hear shouting, but it was faint. She saw her friends and mother over her. Her strength slowly faded and her eyes grew heavy. Remi saw Shiloh's aura still around him, and she could feel her own growing when he was near. She slowly closed her eyes and everything went quiet and black. The last thing she heard was, "I won't let you get away from me that easily, Rem. You're the one, the one that my parents said I'd find some day," it was Shiloh and Remi's heartbeat quickened.

Remi woke up finally during the night and it seemed like minutes, but she saw the calendar on the opposite wall her hospital bed was against and it was two years later. She looked down and saw she was hooked up to millions of cords. She glanced over to her left to see Shiloh, curled up on the chair sleeping. His hair was grown out a little and he had started to grow some facial hair. Remi smiled, her cheeks growing warm just from seeing how cute he was sleeping. She eventually noticed all the flowers, pictures and stuffed animals around the room. There were dozens of roses, carnations, tiger lilies and a bunch of other flowers that were mixed in. There were chocolates, homemade cookies, Christmas gifts that were still unopened, birthday gifts still unopened and a small unopened box next to her bed. She looked and noticed how dark it was, even if it was night time. She smiled, knowing it was her parents doing. Remi saw a picture that had Shiloh and her in it. It was the first time they met and he was excited about his new phone that he wanted to take a picture. It was in a nice frame that had the phrase 'Friendship may only be temporary. Love is forever.' written underneath the picture, carved into the wooden frame.
Shiloh stirred in his sleep and Remi tried to get out of bed, to see the frame closer. She ended up making monitors go off and Shiloh fell off his chair, they were so loud. "You're awake!"
"Hi. Um, can you help me back in bed? I forgot I had this stuff on..." Remi bashfully spoke. She felt stupid, but knew Shiloh didn't care. He quickly rushed over to the left side of her bed and helped her back in.
A nurse came running in and saw what was going on, "You're awake. I will notify your parents and friends," She grinned.
"Please...not yet. Can we notify them in the morning?" Remi asked, hoping she would cooperate. The nurse nodded and closed the door with a smile. Shiloh looked at Remi perplexed.
"Why don't you want to no--" he was cut off by a kiss from Remi. She pulled him in close, wrapping her arms around him the best she could. He pulled away for a second, seeing how badly she was struggling and gave a smirk, "Why don't we try this?" It wasn't a question, more of a suggestion, as he removed her arms from around his neck. He straddled her gently and leaned in to kiss her on the lips soothingly. Remi followed his lead as they innocently locked lips for a while.

About an hour or so later, the two were out of breath. Remi was shocked that Shiloh pushed on, even when they were exhausted, but she enjoyed it, "I love you, Remi." Shiloh whispered as he stared into her eyes.
Her cheeks grew warm and they turned to a deep crimson color when he said those words. She hesitated, but she knew she loved him back, even if their relationship was a strange one, "I--I love you too, Shiloh," she replied shyly. She looked away and felt a hand caress her cheek. She heard a whisper in her ear, and she froze. "When the time is right, Shiloh. Not now," she said softly.
Shiloh agreed and got off from on top of Remi, "I don't think I've seen anyone be in a coma after a fight like you had two years ago and you seem perfectly fine," he smiled.
"Well, I still don't understand why I am unconscious for two years, but it takes a lot of energy out of me. I need to regain it back somehow," she replied with a shy smile across her lips.
Shiloh smirked, "I can understand a few days, maybe two weeks to regain your energy back after a fight like that, but maybe not two years. But that's just my thinking," he said and embraced her in an awkward hug, "I'm just glad you are alright," his tone grew weak and his voice cracked through the whole sentence.
Remi's grew to the size of golfballs and she calmed down, wrapping her arms around him the best she could, "I am too," she replied. They sat there for a few minutes and then Remi pulled back, "How's football going?"
Shiloh stayed quiet, sitting down in the chair that was close to the bed, "I got kicked off the team..." he responded softly. He looked up, tears in his eyes, "I've been a wreck, Remi. It's been two years since I saw your smile that makes my heart drown. Those nightmares went away, but new ones formed and they were about you...you leaving me...forever." His tears strolled down his cheeks as he spoke from the heart.
Remi's heart sank, as she listened to Shiloh. She wanted to give him a hug and comfort him, but the wires and tubes were all in the way. "These things are so damn annoying," she grumbled, ripping them off with a swift pull. Shiloh went to stop her, but she pushed him back in the chair with ease. "I don't like seeing you hurt, Shiloh. I'm sorry I made you a wreck two years ago. I will never do that again," she replied and held his face gently in her hands. She put her lips against his, moving a hand down his chest, grabbing a hold of his shirt tightly.
"This isn't the best place, you even told me that," he commented between kisses.
"I didn't say we were gonna do anything. You just think we are," she winked and continued to kiss him.
