~Zach's POV~

"Will you be ok here by yourself?" I ask Lauren getting ready to go back home later in the evening.

"Yes," she assures me wrapping her hands around my neck causing me to smile, "go! You need serious sleep!"

"Do I need to go?" I whine kissing her all over her face ending with her lips.

She pulls away unwillingly—still giggling—nodding saying, "I love you...and thank you for what you did today."

"Keep your head up ok and if you're ever feeling something don't hesitate to call," I make sure she knows.

"I will," she nods opening her door, "now shoo and FaceTime me tomorrow if you can ok?"

"Always," I peck her lips walking down the hallway walking towards my car.

I get to the parking lot and look up seeing Lauren looking out her window blushing. I blow her a kiss and I see her laughing and blow me one back.

I get in my car and head home.

"I'm here mom if you were wondering!" I shout.

"Honey?" she asks hugging me.

"What's up?" I ask as well.

"There is someone here unexpected to see you," she looks unsure, "in the living room. When you decide tell me what you wanna do yeah?"

I nod confused and head to my living room to see.

Daniel..?

"Daniel right?" I ask. "Jade's boy?"

"Not anymore," he says as I sit across from him on my couch as he sits in a chair.

"What do you mean?" I ask.

"I broke it off. You know ever since she saw you and Lauren she would just talk about how jealous she was of you two. I was confused but I'm not dumb. She wasn't good for me. I don't think she's good for anyone honestly," he scoffs.

"Me neither man," I smile, "but I'm glad you came to your senses. Both of us fell for her once and it turned out bad. Now I found the one for me and you're next I'm sure of that."

"Thanks," he says.

There is silence which wasn't exactly awkward but I wanted to know why he was sitting in my living room in the first place.

"So why'd you come here," I ask thinking of how weirded out my mom was.

"Yeah sorry in advance," he scratches the back of his neck. "Anyway Jade's the niece this guy at Atlantic Records but you probably know that. She has all the money. So I came here with her and I don't have any money to get back. I-I wouldn't stay for long and I do know what I'm asking it's just-"

"I'll stop you right there," I say, "I got you man. Maybe I can set you up my girlfriend's bestie. You'd love her. She's pretty hyper and demanding but a really good person. That's for sure. So you can sleep down here there is a pull out bed and take your time. Get situated no rush. Also I have siblings so be quiet and no partying k?"

You're a great dude Zach," he smiles.

"I know," I joke.

We chuckle, "There are blankets and pillows in that linen closet to the right."

He nods.

I immediately go upstairs. I explain to my mom his situation. And she gets it even more because she knows how Jade is from my unfortunate experiences.

"He can stay for however long he wants or needs," she smiles and now I just have to find a way to tell Lauren.

Lauren...yeah...

I head upstairs to call her. I remove my shorts and shirt leaving me in my boxers and lay down on my bed beginning to FaceTime Lauren.

"Hi handsome," she says resting her chin in her hand.

"Beautiful," I respond, "so what you up to."

"I just finished the paper I had to do for online classes. Thank goodness," she shuts her laptop smiling. "So how come you called me I thought you were getting major sleep. And you just saw me."

"You're acting like my mother babe," I chuckle.

She sticks her tongue out at me.

"So you know Daniel," I ask scratching the back of my neck.

"Jade's boyfriend?" she asks.

"Yeah," I say, "well not her bf anymore. He broke up with her since she was trying to break us up. Anyway she didn't have anyway to get home since Jade paid for his trip here. So he is kinda staying at my house."

I close my eyes waiting for her respond.

"That's awesome Zach," she surprises me, "and I'm glad you decided to help someone who needed it. It makes me really happy and proud to be with you."

"Thanks baby," I smile still shocked but not letting it show, "that does feel good."

"Alright I'm headed to bed," she says and as I think she is gonna hang up she says, "but don't think you fooled me on how shocked you were at my reaction."

"Love you," I mumble.

And hang up the phone thinking of what a crazy it has been but she makes it all seem a-okay!
