As White as Snow

Opening my eyes, I sensed someone looking at me from behind. I panicked and stood up. I turned around and saw a girl around my age standing at the door with a red mug. The smell could take you away into an exotic holiday. She saw me look towards her mug and pointed at it.

"Yes, I would love a cup of coffee and something to eat, please" I was starving and desperate to eat. I sat on the big white couch where I was sleeping. I didn't feel threatened by her. In fact, it was just the opposite, she made me feel at ease. I looked down at my arm and saw that it was healed, only leaving scars as a reminder of what was there. The smell of leather from the couch made me feel great as I sensed the warmth of the sun touching my skin coming through the big windows. I watched as she went back into the kitchen.

I examined the house which seemed quite modern. White, grey and black were the predominant colours with some touches of red for decoration, the living room was quite big surrounded by large windows with red curtains. She certainly isn't poor. Her flat Tv was in front of me and between it and me was a small glass table. I stood up, feeling a little dizzy, I almost wanted to sit again, yet I continued to go towards the kitchen.

Entering the room the lights went on and off. I thought there was a problem, but she immediately turned around and put a full red mug of coffee in front of me. With a movement of her hand, she told me to sit down. Why isn't she talking to me?

I sat down on one of the four black bar stools. It was comfy and high, I looked at her, she was smiling and her platinum hair made her look like Galadriel under the moon. She was so beautiful and unique.

"Thank you very much," she gave me a napkin on it she placed a piece of bread with cheese and ham. She also went to press oranges and gave me fresh juice.

I ate the sandwich almost in one go. I drank the orange juice first and the coffee later, but quickly realised that it was a mistake when the horrible taste passed down my throat. She just stood there silently looking at me, like she was examining me. What is she thinking? After finishing everything I asked her where John was, he was the one that saved me so I had to thank him.

She pointed to a door behind me, I stood up and opened it. The room was in complete darkness, the only light coming from behind me. I could see the bed and him lying on it sleeping. I didn't want to bother him so I closed it and looked at me. My clothes were partially shredded and had dried blood on them. Needless to say, I looked like a harpy and smelled like trash.

"I don't want to sound upfront but would you have any clothes for me?" Lifting up my elbows with a small grin on my face.

She nodded and passed in front of me, still smiling. I followed her, we went past the living room and turned left to the stairs. She continued to walk. I observed drawings on the wall. They were very colourful as if they were made by children.

I stopped in front of the drawings, they looked so childish but so pretty. She sensed that I wasn't following her so she looked behind and came back. She pointed at one of the drawings and then towards her belly.

"It was your child?"

She nodded, but her eyes weren't friendly anymore but seemed filled with sorrow, the atmosphere seemed to get cold and grey. I understood that I shouldn't ask anything about this anymore.

To change the subject I asked her name. She looked at my lips very closely and started to write in front of me with her finger, sparkles came out of her fingertips "My name is Senja," she smiled again and the atmosphere shifted to a more welcoming light.

"Nice to meet you, Senja."

She just smiled and continued to go upstairs and I followed. She doesn't talk I presume she can't.

She stopped abruptly and opened a door. Holding the door she let me past first. It seemed like her room. I saw over her bed a painting resembling my cousin's table. This is very odd.

Ohh, shit my cousin and my mother! I stressed and asked her if she has a phone, yet she didn't turn around. Seemed like she couldn't hear me either, so I touched her lightly on the shoulder. She turned around and with a questioning face was waiting for me to say something.

I pointed towards her pocket, which seemed to contain a phone. She took it out and gave it to me. She wrote in the air "use it as much as you wish, I don't have a password".

"Thank you very much," I took the phone with my two hands and nodded.

She smiled and pointed towards her cabinet and towards the private bathroom in her room.

She left me alone slowly closing the door. She was so kind feels good to finally not be chased by monsters, although I still asked myself how am I still alive and what was that big white light surrounding me?

I typed down my cousin's number, I heard it ringing, but nothing it went to voicemail. I did the same with my mother's number, but it went again into voicemail. This is strange well, I try again later. I put the phone down and went to get some clothes. I took out a black top with skinny jeans. I walked towards the bathroom and holy cow was it beautiful and big. A big bathtub with those massage things and the floor was made of marble. Two big plants were next to it. I opened the hot water and took my clothes off. I went into the bathtub, the warmth made me shiver, it felt so relaxing, but I could still feel my bruises even though they were healed from the outside. I closed my eyes and let the warm water relax my tense muscles.
