We reappeared close to my father. The ground around him seemed like a bomb exploded. It was just black. He wasn't smiling, nor happy. His hands were shaking and it seemed like he was drying his tears. Heavy breaths coming from both.
"What have you done, you sacrificed all of us, for this. Was your hate so big against us all?" Her voice was composed as if she accepted her destiny. Her green gown was changing into grey and black and slowly breaking into pieces. She looked towards the sceptre, glowing with the colour purple.
" You will be exiled as all the rest of them. You will pay for what you did to your brother. You don't deserve pity." His screams were echoed by tears.
"You still do not understand, do you?" A little grin could be seen.
"What you mean?" His eyes widened in fear.
"This spell was created by your grandfather when we were young. He was like you although he could never use it." She seemed in peace, her face relaxed.
"If he was as like me why didn't he used it?"
"Because I put a trap into this spell, if he would ever use it, his beloved sister would be one of the sacrifices. My power would be enough to diminish the numbers of humans dying." My father's eyes widened if they wouldn't be held by the holes they would have flown out.
"No, no I never wanted to kill you! I don't believe you! You are not falling down not suffering!" Her look towards him was of sympathy.
"Because I am a god, my boy. I...I... will... always...forgi....y." Before she ended her sentence she slowly started to become dust. She looked at him for one last time and gave him a sad smile.
He fell on the ground. Holding his hands on his head. Beating on the ground crying.
"Neith, what the hell is going on?" I nervously asked.
"Just watch it is almost time." Her voice was weaker.
"Time for what." As soon as I said this a huge wormhole was created over the earth. The force of the wormhole created huge waves of wind, taking down the nearby trees. All the colours known to men were dancing together, and smashing against the ground with lightning. All around me gods reappeared looking confused. They all gasped in horror when they were being sucked by the portal. My father slowly stood up to go get the sceptre that she left there, but before reaching it a younger Neith appeared and pushed him on the ground and grabbed it.
"Your plan failed." She took the sceptre and was sucked by the portal.
"No! no! this was all in vain!" My father fell to his knees, crying a river of disgust and shame. It seems as if I really never knew him.
Neith touched me on the shoulder and we appeared back at the start. I couldn't see a thing. The only flame still lit was a little blue flame flying around me. When I caught a glimpse of Neith she was falling on the ground. I caught her in time. Christ are Gods heavy.
"What is happening!" My voice was shaking.
"I told you I will die." Her composure was gone, she seemed like an old frailed grandma. Her body was getting older by the minute.
"No you cannot, I need your help." My heart was pounding and my body shaking.
"My work is done, I was never here Alex, only my soul, this body isn't mine. I never reached the other side, the psyche somehow made me appear next to them, although the sceptre disappeared."
"No, I have no idea what to do? What should I do? Please don't die! You don't deserve it." She just smiled back at me.
"Alex I am going against my orders and what I believed in." I stopped thinking. What is she talking about?
"What you mean?"
"The psyche, your father and everyone else want you to open the portals, so they could get the sceptre back to earth and magic could finally be free and would save the magical community."
"Is that what I should do?"
She took me by my collar and brought my ear close to her mouth. "I believed them, but I learned something today. The psyche were not once present on the battlefield. They were absent even if they were like us. Alex, do not in any circumstance open the wormhole. If you do the consequences will be disastrous towards Earth. Even if pushed to extremes Alex, do not open that portal. Let magic die out of this world." With that, her hand fell on the ground and one last breath came out of her mouth before she disappeared in front of me.
I almost lost my balance. I just starred for I don't know how long towards the darkness. The little blue flame going around me. I remember this feeling of hopelessness. When I thought my father died. But this was worse she actually died.
"I never expected you to attach yourself to her." I turned around and there I saw him, floating calmly although his voice seemed broken.
"I'm okay." I hope I am.
Should I tell him that she wants me to let the magic die? What should I do! How does she want me to stop this madness?
"Did she told you?"
"What?"You won't fool me!
"That she wants you to let it die out."
"You know?" Well, this takes a turn for the unexpected.
"She finally opened her eyes. Alex although you might think your father is a monster he is the least of your problems. You father actually just wants to save his friends from the mistake he made in the past." It seems he understood his motivations.
"His mistake?" Does he mean that he let the sceptre being taken away by Neith?
"The rest just want power, the psyche hate all of the humans they see them like cattle. Alex, there is a reason you ancestor went to the side of the gods even after being against them." I presume something t do with the psyche.
"What reason?"
"She understood that magic would be the end of this world if not controlled, that is why she created the sceptre. A part of her soul is in it. Your father does have honourable ideals but he is an extremist in his ideals as his followers. Let magic die." He talks like Neith, but I cannot trust him.
Then a clear yellow colour appeared. A huge wave of wind touched him. He was being pushed inside he was battling to stay with me. I ran towards him to try to help him before he screamed.
"Don't Alex, save Earth Alex and save humankind! Don't ever open the portal!" A loud bang made me fall and there I was all alone.
I was shaking and out of breath. Tears flowing down my cheeks. My face becoming warm. For the first time since this started, I was completely alone with my thoughts. I broke apart. I lied on the ground and cried all my kept emotions, my thoughts were running wild. I didn't have to play strong nor anything anymore. I let everything run wild.
"Magic, dead, saving the earth, save magic, let it die, protect humankind. Why me! Just tell me why. I hate you all!" My screams echoed around this empty space. The little blue flame touched my face as if it tried to ease my pain, it wasn't hot nor cold just like a mother's touch.
"I regret the day that Thomas didn't empty me from my blood. Being dead would be so much easier." I felt as my eyes closed and my thoughts drifted away.
