A/N -So, to explain in this crossover fanfiction and alternate universe story there are some changes geograhically. This is due to my effort trying to merge both middle earth and Kattegat (in modern day Scandinavia). Also, to easily implement some of the original story line of History channel's show, Vikings.
You guys should also know that I am shit when it comes to distances between places and etc. So the description down below is based on guesses and estimation.

The map above is the original map of Middle Earth. In this depiction all known places such as Rivendell, Lothlórien, and so on are in the same areas within the map. Except, for the forest of Mirkwood there is a secreted gate that is over a hundred yards away. And 3 KM north from a village known as, Cork. But, not too close to Mordor. That is hidden to all except for all known Elf kingdoms. This is due to an incident in the Second Age of Middle earth where a gateway was accidentally opened by an unknown person. Years later the White Council had agreed to build a gate to seal the gateway closed. And only allowing special persons such as royal blooded elves and chosen mortals to open it. This is due to a spell that was cast between Gandalf the Grey and Saruman the White on the request of the elves. However, that doesn't mean that there are some flaws within the concealment of gate itself.
This gateway is just simple called, "The Gateway between worlds". It works in a similar way that the gate of Moria in the LOTR films work. The gateway, itself geographically(?) is hidden in a tall, large (width wise) oak tree that is guarded by Ents. There are hidden words in Sindarin that is carved in the upper middle part of the oak. Then, a the shape of a gate in Rivindell design and the tree itself was chosen by, Galadriel herself. When the gate is open a person may cross into another world of man known as, the Mortal World. Specifically, to the country that is now known as Scandinavia. The only known and documented mortal from, the Mortal World is, Queen Aslaug of Kattegat when she was a teenager. It was three years after, the Battle of the Five Armies, that she had walked into Middle earth and was rescued by, Gilthoniel star-kindler. Since, that encounter, Aslaug is the only mortal/human to enter through the gateway.

It is several kilometers away from the gateway. To get to, Kattegat the traveler must go through a forest and 5 kilometers of dirt road.
A/N - Hello!! Author ELF here! So as I said, I am terrible when it comes to all things math and distance between places. Ex. kilometers, yards, and so on. So please forgive the incorrect directions, but I do hope you kind of get the idea where things are. And what it means for this fan fiction. Um, in addition to what I am saying the events that are going to happen in this book will mostly be in, Kattegat. Since, this is focused on the crazy love thing between Aslaug's sons and Thranduil's daughter, Gilthoniel. And some as I said before some of the scenes from the, Vikings show.
