Gilthoniel POV - Night time - The Great Hall
When, Aslaug said that she threw a large celebration in my honor I didn't know what to expect. Except for food, alcohol, and dancing which, was common in feast such as these. Both here and back home, but in Kattegat it is much more different than, in Mirkwood. In Mirkwood we drunk the finest of wine and danced under the stars. But, here it was much more free and without any rules to guide any man or woman in attendance. I was sitting beside, Aslaug drinking ale and various foods while, watching everyone having a good time. It was plain to see some were just plain drunk and others were interacting rather intimately with each other in public. If, I was a few hundred years younger my pointed ears and cheeks would be the color of wine. However, I have lived among mortals throughout the years to know what kind of improper that goes on at events such these.
"Gil, how are you enjoying the feast so far?", Aslaug asked with a horn of ale in hand.
I reached over to hold her hand in mine. "I can say that I'm quite enjoying myself, mellon(friend). It is much different than, feasts back home. Here it is more free and wild", I said with a smile.
She laughed at my look of amazement with her deep blue eyes before, looking away for moment. Aslaug, then looked back me as if what she saw was of importance. Seeing her like this made the joyful smile on my face.
"What is it? What's wrong?", I asked. I turned to look at the same direction she did to see her sons looking back at us. All for them except for the tall blonde one, Bjorn was staring at the both of us. More so me than, here because all of them had this look of longing which was a mystery to me.
"My sons seem to have a great interest in you since, you've arrived", she said breaking her line of thought. I turned to turned to see her smile happily at what she has seen in children. In addition, to something else that add to the unknown part of what was happening.
I tilted my head a bit in wonder. "What kind of Interest, mellon? Friendship or... love?", I asked her.
"In my opinion, Gil they are looking at you with a romantic kind of way. And as a mother I would rather my sons fall in love with a elven princess than, that stupid thrall over there", she answered. Aslaug, pointed towards a light blonde servant girl who had this bitter look on her face. It was plain to see that she was pining over getting at least one prince to show their affection, but none would have her. The three older ragnarssons were too busy talking amongst themselves to notice her advances. As for the youngest he was included in their conversation, but seemed to be amused at the thrall's sour attitude.
"And what is of importance of the servant girl to your sons? Are they in love with her or in love with her being just a bed warmer?", I said knowingly. I knew very well what the race of man were like. I have lived long enough to see how things are like when it comes to emotions like love and lust. And those emotions blinds a person no matter what race he or she is.
"The latter, my dear. They are young still and have confused such strong emotions such as love with lust. I am afraid it has blinded them specifically, my three oldest. However, when it comes to Ivar he has not fallen in that whore's seduction", she replied.
"Oh, I see", I said.
"If any or all of my sons were to express their innermost desire to court you would you? I know very well of your father's preferences to have a mate of the same race", said Aslaug. She looked curiously with a glint of hope in her eyes as if, the perspective of having at least one of her sons by my side was a possibility. Which wasn't completely out of question because on all of adventures I have met people who were half-human, half-elf. In addition, to couples of that were of both races. But, Aslaug was right because knowing my father he would approve of my future mate being an elf instead, of a human. For reasons concerning their short life expectancy compared to an immortal life such as mine. There are also, other things that comes with being an a princess that are more obvious than others. However, I've never been one to follow all of my father's rules to the letter.
