Gudrun whimpered in her sleep as she started waking up. Her eyelids still felt heavy after the long night of sleep. It was the third day of 2018 and Gudrun and Daniel had celebrated New Years Eve just with the two of them, watching the fireworks from the balcony and having fun with each other. Sadly for Daniel, his training was starting again today and he had to leave bed early. "It's just me, babe". Daniel's baritone morning voice sounded in the bedroom that was heavily darkened by the curtains in front of the window. "Hmm". She hummed in response, stretching her arms above her head as he pulled her into his chest. "Don't you have to train in a few?". Gudrun asked and he groaned in response, making her laugh. "I'll take that as a yes". She giggled and moved her hands through his curls to mess it up even more.

"Michael's here in half an hour. Sure he wants to meet you". Daniel said, closing his eyes again after kissing her forehead. "You can sleep more if you want to, you of course don't have to get up at this ungodly hour with me". Gudrun sat a bit more up on the bed, the sheets still curled around her as she watched Daniel getting dressed. He pulled on a pair of shorts and his back was turned to her, which caused blushes to show up on her cheeks as she discovered the slight scratches her nails had left on his skin. "You better not take your shirt off". She mumbled, causing his laughter to echo through the room. "Michael would be glad I finally got some". Daniel looked at her from over his shoulder. "I actually meant so other women can't stare at you, but whatever floats your boat". Gudrun cheekily mentioned. "I'm all yours, baby girl". He smiled and she already swooned away. "See you later". She nodded and leaned up as he bend towards her for a kiss. "Have fun". Gudrun smiled and he playfully rolled his eyes.

Daniel walked down the hallway and found his shoes on the way to the kitchen. He opened the fridge to take some yoghurt out and pour it into the bowl. He looked outside to see that it was still dark, however the sun was doing some attempts to cut through the heavily, dark blue morning sky. He took his phone from the charger and scrolled through some notifications. The door already swung open as Daniel had said a Michael could just come in, he didn't have to knock or ring the bell as Gudrun was probably already asleep again. "Morning, mate". Michael smiled and their hands met in a boyish shake. "Ready to get down to business again?". He asked Daniel, who gave him a glance. "Be easy on me, Michael. Christmas was good to me". Daniel rubbed his stomach with a laugh and it caused his trainer to laugh as well.

"I brought some things with me, weights and stuff. Let's go on a run first and then grab the bikes uphill for some exercises". Michael said while grabbing a banana from the fruit bowl. Daniel nodded and ate his last spoons of yoghurt, putting it in the dishwasher to follow Michael outside. "I've heard a lot of things happened to your life during the winter break". The Australian trainer said. "You could say so". Daniel mused, not giving away much. Michael scoffed and nudged his side. "You got married". "Yeah, I did". Daniel replied, his smile automatically wider as he thought about Gudrun. "My friends thought I had spent enough years of my life as a single man and after a night of beers they signed me up for Married At First Sight". He explained, making Michael let out a chuckle.

"I was incredibly mad at them at first, but then there was this stunning sheila who made her way up to me and man, when she pulled the veil away from her face, I was sold". Daniel sighed. It was quiet between them for a bit as they had to cross a road and keep breathing, as running and talking can be quite intense. "We've had a honeymoon trip to Las Vegas, all arranged by the program and it was amazing". Daniel continued. "So, you spend Christmas and New Years with her?". Michael and he nodded. "I did, we had one day of Christmas for our families too, who flew in from Australia and the second and New Years for ourselves". Michael could sense Daniel was happy and it made him smile as the hard working F1 driver absolutely deserved it. "Is she coming to races with you as well?". He asked, looking forward to meet Daniel's wife.
