Daniel looked at Gudrun with a dreamy stare in his deep brown eyes. She was currently talking to waitress about some dishes on the menucard. He had some questions about them, however he didn't want to embarrass himself, so he wanted Gudrun to ask the waitress about the ingredients. Her Scottish accent clearly came through as she spoke to the lady, her smile beaming as always. He heard some foreign words too and he thought it would really mean that she felt at home here. She had spent a lot of time here in Glasgow after all. It was their third day here and Gudrun had shown him some amazing things. Tomorrow they were going to do some more site seeing and Gudrun had promised him to show him where she had lived, if she could still remember where the house was, before she moved to Perth with her foster parents. "Are you okay?". Gudrun asked and waved her hand in front of Daniel's face, causing him to wake up from his trance and lift his head again.
"Yeah, I was just amazed by you". He smiled and she blushed a little, she swore she could never get used to the sweet things he always told her. Daniel had been concerned about her after the Monaco raceweekend, as she had been very tired and she didn't feel too well, even throwing up before they attended the party that was arranged because he had won the race. He said he wanted her to see a doctor if she threw up once more out of nowhere, however Gudrun didn't think it would be something bad. "So, the dish you asked about was the neeps and tatties". She started as she scanned the menucard again, seeing him grin as she glanced over at him. "Sorry, it's just the tatties that get me everytime". Daniel admitted and she shook her head with a smile. "The neeps are turnips and the tatties are potatoes. You obviously know what potatoes are, turnips are very healthy and they're quite good actually. I think you'll like it". Gudrun closed the menucard as she had already chosen what she wanted to eat.
"Then it's the neeps and tatties for me". Daniel said. "I hope you can order that without giggling like you're five". She said, leaning her elbows on the table with a giggle. "Can you stop the roast, please, wife?". Daniel replied to make it rhyme, causing her to laugh now. "What do you think of Scotland or Glasgow so far?". Gudrun asked after the waitress came back to take their orders. "I love the atmosphere, especially because there are still a lot of ancient buildings and siteseeings here. The people are very friendly, even though I can't understand a lot of you're speaking the Gaelic words". Daniel chuckled, taking a sip of his beer. "Gaelic is the greatest language ever. I prefer it over Aussie slang actually". She admitted, making him playfully gasp and look at her with wide eyes. "Your Australian heart does not mean that". He tssked and she nibbled on her lower lip to not force the laughter back. "Is there anything you want to see besides where I've lived back in the days?". She asked.
Daniel shook his head. "Not that I know of, but if you're up to go out the whole day then I won't mind either". She smiled at him. "I'm not sure what to show you anymore, I think I've been a pretty decent tour guide". She laughed and he hummed in agreement. "A very decent tourguide, I think I've see whole Glasgow in these three days that have passed". Daniel chuckled. "I'm glad you love it here". They briefly paused their conversation as the waitress came back with their dishes, putting the plates down in front of them. Daniel gave his empty beer glass in sign to replace it with a new one, making the waitress nod as she got what he meant. Gudrun waited with eating her meal as she watched Daniel try the neeps and tatties for the first time. He took a bite and looked up at here, almost laughing at how she looked at him. "And? Is it good?". She asked with a smile. "Better than I expected, to be honest". Gudrun clapped her hands in satisfaction, taking her own cutlery to start eating too.
"Are there any other countries you'd like to visit? I know you want to return to the United States some time". Daniel mentioned. "You remembered that?". She asked, not confused, not surprised either, perhaps amazed formed the good word? She had told him that during their second week of their honey moon trip to Las Vegas, which was by now six months ago. "Of course I remebered that. You're my wife, Gudrun". Daniel replied, as if it was totally normal for him. Gudrun smiled and looked down at her plate before taking another bite. "I'd love to see countries like Iceland and Greenland. The countries you don't see on instagram every day. I never hear anyone saying something like 'where have you been on holidays? I went to visit the capital city of Greenland!'. The northern countries just fascinate me". Gudrun explained. "And you? You've been in a lot of countries". She giggled. Daniel automatically smiled at hearing her laughing. "Obviously". He finished his bite first.
