"Lydia, there's something I need to tell you..." spoke Ryan, almost whispering. I rose my head off his shoulder and looked into his eyes again. "What is it, Ryan?" I asked. Ryan took a deep breath before he cupped my face with his soft palms and said, "Will you...will you go out with me?"
I gasped in shock and immediately nodded. Then I pulled his face near mine and our lips dashed into each other. At first Ryan startled, probably shocked about the fact that I was kissing him but he too joined and savored me. My stomach started flipping up and down, a strong feeling gushed over me as I carefully and gently broke the kiss."....wow...that was," started off Ryan, not sure what to say.
"Yeah...that was, uh..." I stammered, also not sure what to say. I was so nervous at the point, I didn't need a mirror to see how fiercely I was blushing and to my surprise, Ryan's cheeks were hot and pink as he kept on staring at my lips. The intensity and tension kept on rising even though the cold October winds were blowing against our bodies.
I noticed Ryan opening his mouth, seeming like he was about to say something when his phone rang from his leather jacket.
"Hello?" he spoke, rather much seriously. I stared at him as he spoke. His eyes, they were so loving and emotional. Now, they're cold and dark. Just like those eyes I saw when he was arguing with Noah...how does he do it? Changing moods in barely a minute?
"Lydia, I have to go...my dad, he needs me." He said, all of a sudden, causing me to drift away from my thoughts.
"Of course, call me when you reach home." I said with a smile. Ryan just grinned and pecked on my lips softly.
"Does Sunday at 8pm work for you?" He asked. I grinned brighter and nodded silently.
Back at the Golden Lords' Mansion,
I slowly walked into my new and rather not-as-comfortable-as-my-old-bedroom carefully with my crutches, fearing I might slip and fall. My mother noticed me coming in and came into my room.
"How are you feeling now, Darling?" she asked as she helped me onto my bed. I didn't reply, Jesus, I didn't even dare to look at her. I kept on staring at the red blanket that I had wrapped around myself. Mom noticed my nervous behavior and immediately knew that something was up.
"Are you okay, Lydia? You seem, lost in thought..." She asked me, rather worriedly. But I just smiled the brightest and widest smile ever as I sluggishly spoke the words, " Mom, I think I'm in love..."
Meanwhile at the Black Viceroys' Mansion, Ryan's P.O.V;
"Dad, out of all the terrible timings, you had to call then!" I cried annoyed.
"Aren't you on fire? What did I interrupt?" asked Dad.
"Duh, I was doing what you sent me for in the first place." I lied. I couldn't tell him that I surprisingly met up with Lydia and that I had asked her out. Initially, Dad had sent me out to find Noah, who was seemingly missing for the past 6 hours. His mom, which makes her my step-mom, was desperately looking for him and Dad couldn't bear to see her upset. What he doesn't know is that I didn't even bother looking for him. He could be out there, doing whatever he pleased and I wouldn't even give a damn about it.
"Did you find that lost cause of a boy?" asked Dad as he took a sip from his cup of warm tea.
"I've looked everywhere for him but no sign."
"Dang it, where can that boy go? Tess has been in a bad condition for the past few hours. It always happens when she doesn't get to see Noah in a while."
Suddenly, a vague disappointment filled my insides. I could feel myself feeling, all of a sudden, empty. Unloved. It didn't take much long for the feeling to take control of my whole body as it started leaving Dad's office room.
"Ryan, where do you think you're going?" asked Dad from behind.
"I'm calling the day off. See you in the morning, Dad." And I left towards my bedroom.
