I strolled my way towards the deserted park where I once met up with Ryan and he asked me to be his girlfriend. It's been a while since I've met him; my heart was pounding more than ever. I was shivering from the inside, probably too excited to meet him. But I'd have to say, some things are boggling me.
Should I tell Ryan, about me? Should I tell him that I'm the daughter of a gang leader and currently am being trained to become the next one? How would he take the news? How would he react? Would he still want me as his girlfriend?
I slowly walked with the thoughts rushing in and out, when I suddenly heard a familiar voice.
"LYDIA!" I looked up and there he was. Ryan opened his arms and waited. Before I realized, I found tears falling down my cheek and my legs started running towards him. I never realized how much I missed him until I heard his voice and saw him.
I ran into his arms and he hugged me tightly. He lifted my chin gently so that our gaze could meet.
"Hey now, why are you crying?" he asked as he wiped my tears.
"I love you." I said directly. Ryan continued to stare at me. He brought his face closer to mine, never moving his eyes away from mine. Slowly, our lips met and we stayed there, savoring each other's touch. It was a gentle kiss. Shortly, he pulled away softly and whispered, "I love you too."
My knees became weak and I stumbled. Ryan caught me up with a strong and firm grip. "Whoa, whoa! Are you okay? Is your leg still not recovered?" he asked worriedly.
"No, it's just- I'm too happy, I can't even stand." I giggled. Ryan chuckled with a wide grin, revealing his cute dimples. Oh god, I love him. I love Ryan so much.
We later decided to sit down on the grass, since I wasn't able to control my balance. Is my body taking the news a little too heavy?
"What have you been doing all this time? Busy unpacking your new mansion?" Ryan asked. That's right, Ryan thinks I moved in there. I could go along with that excuse, but I don't want to lie to him or keep things from him. Not anymore, especially after our confession.
"Umm, Ryan....there's something I need to tell you." Ryan sensed the seriousness in my tone and hardened his upper body. Anyone could tell he was nervous and preparing himself to hear what I had to say.
"Yeah, what is it, Lydia?" he asked, trying to be less anxious.
"I-I am...actually that mansion- umm, it's-" I sighed in frustration. Dammit, why can't I just say it?! Why is this so hard?
Ryan took my hand and held it firmly yet gently. He looked at me with comforting eyes and waited patiently for me to continue.
Ryan's P.O.V:
She was trembling. She was scared. She's probably worried about how I'll react after hearing about her true identity. I wanted to tell her, that she doesn't have to be afraid. She doesn't have to worry. Because I love her. I love her even though she's my rival. I love her even though she's the daughter of a criminal. Because I'm the son of a criminal too. Heck, I AM a criminal.
I was sent by my dad to get her to trust me and finish her off. But I fell in love with her. I know I shouldn't have, but you can't control who you love, can you?
"I-I belong to the Golden Lords' gang. My dad...he's the leader, and-and I'm his successor." Lydia said with her eyes shut. She said it. She told her truth. I looked at her innocent beautiful face. She didn't deserve this. She didn't deserve being part of this world. She should've stayed in her normal life. With friends, school, dreams, hopes.
I gently cupped her face with my hands. She stared at me with glistening eyes, ready to tear up. I kissed her forehead and said the truth, "I still love you. I don't care where you belong or what you are, I love you and nothing's going to change that."
