A MONTH LATER- Lexi's POV
It was Friday night and tonight was finally the time that our soccer team plays our biggest rival. I was getting ready and then I was going to pick up Ethan. Over the past month, we've only gotten closer- if that's even possible. He hasn't asked me out and I'm not sure if he will anytime soon, but I think he feels the same way. I mean, we act like a couple; we kiss, hold hands, cuddle, and I'm sure a lot of people at school think we're together.
I finished straightening my hair and picked up my phone. I pressed on Ethan's contact as I put on my Birkenstocks.
"Hellooooo babe." Ethan answered, causing me to laugh.
"Hi, I'm leaving in a couple minutes to pick you up." I told him, as I grabbed my purse and left my bedroom. I walked into Ryan's room, quietly saying goodbye.
"Alright..." He said.
"Ethan are you drunk?" I asked, hearing a few other voices in the background.
"Nahhh... okay. Just a little bit." He whispered the last part. I rolled my eyes and laughed, before walking out the door to my car.
"I'll be there in a few." I told him.
"Bye." He rather loudly said into the phone. I hung up and began driving over to his house. When I turned onto his street, I noticed around half a dozen cars parked near Ethan and Gray's house. I walked up to the front door and knocked a few times, when after a minute or so the door opened.
"Hey." Ethan said, looking me up and down, stepping out of the house.
"Hi." I smiled, as he leaned down and kissed me.
At The Game
"Ethan, over here!" I heard a guy's voice call from somewhere in the bleachers. Ethan and I had walked up holding hands and a think a few people had noticed. I found the source of the voice, a dirty blonde who was wearing a jersey for our team. Ethan pulled me with him as we walked up a few stairs and squeezed in on the end of the bleachers.
"I'm Liam." The boy who had called Ethan's name turned to me.
"Lexi." I smiled.
"Where's Gray?" He asked, turning back to Ethan, who stood in between us.
"Hanging out with a few others at home, just drinking and whatever." Ethan explained. We watched the game for awhile, and half a dozen more people squeezed into our row, none of them that I knew. The game began and by halftime, we were up by two.
"I'm gonna go get something to eat. Do you want anything?" I asked Ethan.
"Yeah, can you just get me a popcorn?" He asked, reaching for his wallet.
"I got it E." I laughed, causing him to playfully roll his eyes.
"Fine..." He said, as I walked away. I went down to the concessions stand and was surprised at how long the line was. I got in line anyways and after around fifteen minutes, began to make my way back up to the bleachers with a bag of popcorn and nachos. I was just coming around the corner and about to go up the steps when I saw Ethan. And his lips were practically glued to another girl. Liam and I made eye contact and he elbowed Ethan, who quickly pulled away and looked at me. I turned around and started to walk down the main stairs and towards the front gates. I tossed the food in a garbage can, suddenly losing my appetite.
"Lexi!"
"Lexi, wait." I heard, and then felt someone grab my wrist.
"What?" I turned around to face Ethan, trying to hold in my tears. I pulled my wrist away.
"I didn't want to do that. She came onto me and-" He was frantically explaining.
"That's what they all say Ethan!" I yelled.
"I'm sorry..." He sighed, walking towards me.
"Don't touch me. I don't even want to talk to you right now." I shakily said, my vision blurring as I reached up and quickly wiped away my tears, not wanting him to see me cry right now.
"But Lexi-" He started to loudly say.
"Leave me alone okay?" I yelled, turning around and walking to my car. I unlocked it and once I got in, I just broke down, my hands on the steering wheel. I pulled myself together enough to start the car and leave the parking lot. I turned on the radio, as music was something that could always calm me down, no matter what. I parked the car in the driveway and got out, walking into the house. I shut the door behind me and went straight upstairs.
"Honey, you're home early?" My mom asked from the bottom of the stairs. I didn't turn around, as I didn't want her to know I was crying.
"Yeah, the game ended early." I lied, going into my room. I sat down on my bed and continued to cry, even though I didn't want to, I couldn't help it. I heard a knock on the front door.
"Hi Madisyn." My mom greeted. Why was Madisyn here?
"She's upstairs." I heard my mom again. I stood up from my bed and walked over to my mirror and wiped my tears, trying to make it look like I hadn't been crying. I heard a queit knock on my door and looked to see Madisyn standing there.
"I saw what happened." She said quietly, walking to me and giving me a hug. I started to cry again as I hugged her tightly.
"I'm sorry."
