THEA'S POV.

I was in the training room, working on my fighting skills until I saw Isabelle rushing towards me.

"Thea, we have a problem. Simon's leaving the institute." She told me before I quickly reacted and ran to find Simon. I was running everywhere until I heard Simon's voice.

"Message received, loud and clear." He said and I turned to a corner to see him walking out of the institute. Clary was about to follow him, but I quickly stopped her.

"Let me talk to him." I offered and she hesitantly nodded before I jogged to Simon.

After I can outside, I saw Simon walking to his van and I started talking.

"Simon, wait up!" I yelled and he turned around to look at him.

"Look, Thea, I am not going back in there and you can't talk me out of it, Ok?" He told me.

"I'm not. I want to make sure you were Ok." I stated with small smile.

"Why are you so nice to me than the others?" Simon asked me and I giggled.

"Well I don't have a reason to not like you and I can already see us being good friends. Just be careful and call if you need anything, alright?" I said before he nodded.

"Uh yeah, thanks." He told me and it made me smile.

"Ok. Well, I think I need to head back to the institute. Don't want Alec to freak out or anything. I'll see you around, Simon." I said before slowly turning around and walking into the institute.

"Magnus Bane. He's over 300 years old, as you can see, he's not exactly shied away from the pleasures if every century.  His tastes are both exquisite, and quite excessive." Hodge explained to us before showing a picture of the warlock while I sat next to Alec.

"He looks like the Downworlder's David Duetta." Clary said and I let out a laugh.

"Guetta's already a Downworlder. Vampire? Ever seen him in the daylight?" Izzy asked with a smile.

"Can you two focus? This not a joke." Alec said to Izzy and Clary.

"Someone needs to get slayed." Isabelle breathed out before looking at me.

"And why me, dear parabatai?" I asked playfully with grace and we both started giggling.

"Alec's right. Now, Magnus is one of the most powerful warlocks I've ever known. He has a deep mistrust of shadowhunters." Hodge explained.

"Well, then why did he help my mom remove our memories? Isn't she a shadowhunter?" Clary asked Hodge who looked at her.

"Yes, one of the best. But 'help' might not be the accurate word. Now did Magnus provide a service for Jocelyn? Perhaps. But more than likely, your mother paid Magnus handsomely for his magic." Hodge told us.

"Warlocks usually require payment before they help anyone with anything." Jace stated.

"Word from the Clave is that most of the warlocks have gone into hiding, since Valentine began hunting them." Alec said.

"Valentine  must be searching for the warlock, where did Jocelyn-" Hodge started before flinching from the pain of his circle rune.

"Hodge, you rune." Clary warned, "You Ok?" She asked and he hummed, meaning a yes, "So how do we find Magnus?"

"We don't. Magnus finds us, we'll set up a meeting somewhere protected. Lure him out of hiding." Jace answered, looking at the picture of Magnuson before I turned my head to Isabelle with a smirk which she gladly returned.
