So let's start from the beginning, my name is Adrienne Harrison and I have a twin sister named Adrianna Harrison. We were normal kids with loving parents, my sister and I are originally from New York City, we were born at Harlem hospital on November 21st. My mother's name was Christiana Harrison, she was amazing, she was so sweet but also passive and passionate. She was small skinny women with long curly light brown hair and hazel eyes, our father Grant, on the other hand, was tall dark and handsome, he was a great father but he could be really possessive. My father was an entrepreneur and he owned several businesses. He started his own telecommunications company straight out of college and when he was 22 he sold his company for 3 million dollars. From there he started investing in anything that would make a profit from restaurants to publishing companies. .Unfortunately our parents were murdered when we were 3 years old, there was a fire to cover up the murder luckily Nyla and me made it out but strangely enough, we were strapped in our car seats during the fire, police say it was arson but no one was arrested, they never even had a suspect.

After that we bounced around from foster home to foster home, however, we also ran away a lot, anytime they tried to separate or mistreat we used ran away. Adrianna and I have been homeless many times before the age of 10. We've lived in train stations, parks, on the street eventually we ended up at a group home for at-risk youths when we were 10. A year later We ended up in a foster home with 50 other young girls, Adrianna and I weren't popular or cool, we were actually the most disliked children in the orphanage. Kids, teachers, counselors even social workers were afraid of us. after the loss of our parents, we refused to speak to anyone except each other behind closed doors. We never smiled, never attempted to interact with other kids, even when it was free time for us to roam the grounds we sat in silence staring at each other. we were outcasts however we weren't trying to be weird at all, my sister and I have an unspoken language and we felt as if we were all each other needed and we came to learn that it wasn't true.

After another year my sister and I were adopted and we were excited the first time we smiled since the loss of our parents. We went home with our new "mom" and "dad" but little did we know that they were the furthered thing from parents that you can get. The first week was great, Julie and Henry took us to restaurant's, parks even to the zoo for the first time in our lives, we even said a few words were they can hear us. For once in our lives, we felt as if the hard times were over, we thought our new life would help us forget about our tragic start in this world. the second week was the first week that Julie and Henry received the check for taking us in, that was when it all started.

It was the beginning of the summer and after that check, our "parents" became a little standoffish so Adrianna and I thought it would be a good idea to bring Julie flowers home. we tried to grab the flowers from the neighbors garden and the elderly lady living there caught us before dragging us home. when the neighbor explained to Julie and Henry what we did, they shrugged it off summing it up into kids will be kids. However when the door closed behind our neighbor, we saw a different side, it was the first time that we were beaten. henry yelled at us and said that he never wanted us and if we were to cause any trouble we would pay for it. Julie came in a few moments later and smacked both of us across the face, hard this was the first time we have ever been hit. she left marks on our faces, mines much worse than Adrianna's, we weren't allowed to play outside until our faces cleared. for years the abuse got worse, physically, mentally and emotionally, they broke us they did everything to break our spirits and it worked by the time we were 13, we were right back to those broken girls who don't also. until finally, our thirteenth birthday had arrived, we weren't excited because for the past year we didn't receive a present or cake, just a beating from drunk parents. I stayed late at school tonight to finish my art project, Adrianna likes to sleep and dream she's back with our parents every birthday. I went to the store on my way home and stole her favorite chocolate bar, you see I don't really feel any emotion, Adrianna, on the other hand, is very emotional. we complete opposites of each other and I always have to be strong for her and I don't mind so I do everything in my power to make her life a little easier.
