"Do you want to watch one more episode?"
"Yes, of course. I like this thing... how do you call it? Netflix?"
"I can't believe you've never watched Netflix with your friends before."
"Oh yes, they talked about the series they were watching but my stepfather didn't like this things, I wasn't allowed to have a laptop at home either, and didn't go out often or stay at my friends' house at night. That's why I never watched it before. Would you like some more cake?"
"No thank you, if I eat one more piece of that delicious chocolate cake I'm going to explode and that's not the way I'd like to give birth, to be honest."
Dalia Marion is totally different than I thought she'd be, I mean, Mark Sinclair is very tall and heavily built and I thought he'd need to be married to a powerful Amazon that could handle him but no... Dalia is short, has dark hair, she always smiles and is very kind, although she has a temper when she gets furious according to Ruby. 'I got it from my Mexican grandma,' she confirmed me. Fortunately, she got from her grandma her recipes book too and I enjoyed the best nachos with guacamole ever and two pieces of Matt's chocolate cake while we watched several episodes of her favourite series lying on her bed. I look at her out of the corner of my eye, worried... the truth is that the poor girl seems about to explode. I can't believe she still has to stay like this for another month since her belly is ginormous.
"Do you know the sex of the baby?" I ask curiously pointing at her abdomen under the pink blanket.
"She's a girl," she answers with a bright smile that almost blinds me.
"Oh my... I pity the boys of this city when they want to flirt with the Chief Inspector's daughter..."
"You're right, my husband has a gun..." she answers looking at me with panic in her face before we both burst into laughing. That girl will make Mark dance around her little finger and there's nothing he can do to stop her. "By the way, we've been arguing about her name for months and you gave us the solution to our problem finally."
"Who, me?"
"Parents choose the first name, our inner wolf tells us his/her name when we're around 4 or 5 years old and we start to hear the voice clearly in our minds, we learn to separate its thoughts from our own thoughts and... let's say that we realize that the voice we hear in our heads is from someone totally different but at the same time is part of us. Sometimes they tell us their names directly and sometimes they reveal it in a dream. Luna is completely out of the question, you're the only one in this city and no girl can have the same name, but we thought that we could call her Iselen... if you don't mind... we both like your name and this way I won't agree to call her like Mark's mother: Gertrude Hypatia."
"I'll be honoured if your baby has my name, above all because I'll save her from the horrible fate of being called Hypatia..." We both burst into laughing again before a soft voice interrupts us.
"Dalia?" I look up and find Claire standing on the doorway staring at us perplexed. She's wearing blue jeans, a shirt and sneakers and she's holding a denim jacket and her bag in her hand.
"Yes, honey?"
"Since Luna is here and she's staying with you I thought that you wouldn't mind if I go out with Gustav just for a little walk, we're going to the nearest supermarket but I think he could use the fresh air."
"I think it's a wonderful idea." The girl nods and is about to turn around and leave when she sees something that catches her eye and stops abruptly.
"You're wearing Alpha Ruby Rose's shirt..." she whispers frowning and pointing at the black garment with pink and white flowers.
"The one you gave her? Yes, I found it at the back of her closet. It's a beautiful shirt, you have very good taste..." Claire looks at me, nods and leaves the room without a word. "Has she always been so reserved or is this a teenager phase?" I ask while Dalia takes the remote control of the TV.
