"It was my pleasure, Alpha Ruby. I'm glad I could help. Besides, Luna Iselen is a lovely woman."

After hugging the owner of the store where my girl bought her new wardrobe I go outside buttoning my better jacket up to the neck: the bad weather has come back. I don't care if it rains as long as the sun makes an appearance next week during our spring fair, if I remember correctly we only had to cancel it in one occasion due to a storm so I hope we continue to be lucky. It's been three days since I ate with Iselen and I took her shopping but I've been so busy that I couldn't come sooner to pay Jade her money. I can't help smiling remembering my mate's bright eyes when she realized that she could buy lots of things with her tight budget, she almost caught me mentally informing the owner that she must give her a big discount and I'd pay the difference later... she's very observant, I'll have to be careful. It's clear that Iselen isn't used to buy clothes or she would have notice soon that he final amount was impossible: so many garments for so little money? I thought for a moment that Jade had overdone it and she'd notice something strange but I guess I underestimated the blonde girl: she kept my mate amused with her charm and funny conversation till it was too late and she was leaving the store carrying all those bags.

To be honest 'In pastel shades' is not my favourite clothes store, I prefer the rock band T-shirts that Jade's brother sells in his own store down the street but I know the girl since she was a cub and I knew that I could trust her. Besides, somehow I knew that my mate would love those clothes, our bond is really strong and it's getting more intense as the days pass. I don't need to look at Iselen's face and see her feelings reflecting in it, now I'm able to discern her mood just standing next to her. I've dropped by the studio a couple of times 'by chance' to say hello and ask her how things were going on and I felt everything: her excitement when I came in, her nervousness later, happiness when she explained me that she was helping with the fair organization, arousal when I took my jacket off and I leaned over her shoulder to look at her sketchbook... well, actually I smell that and it almost drove Rose crazy...

"I can't believe she likes cats..." A voice growls inside my mind.

"You've been saying the same thing for three days, Rose. Calm down, you heard her saying that she'd never had a pet so she doesn't know how wonderful a dog can be... or a wolf. Don't take it personally."

"Yes, I understand it but... cats? Why not a ferret, a parakeet or a chinchilla? Even a hamster! But no, it had to be cats... You're not going to buy her one, are you?" I roll my eyes hard exasperate.

"No Rose, you know there aren't cats in our city and we don't have an animal shelter to adopt one. Nobody abandon their pets in Wolfdale. And I'm not going to the woods in order to hunt a bobcat for her. Relax!" I shake my head, this is what happens when you have to deal with divas being dramatic. The truth is that I'd love to give Iselen some kind of present, something to cheer her up. I know she seems to be happy: her appointment book is full of customers and she's earning a good money for the first time in her life so she feels confident for a change; my people is being extremely kind to her and she looks less fragile now that Anna insists that she has to have dinner with her frequently. However... I feel her sadness sometimes and I know she's thinking about her friend Sebastian and her mum.

Three days ago when she left the restaurant's restroom she looked so tired and sad... for a moment I was tempted to kneel down before her, hug her waist, say sorry and tell her everything so she didn't have to suffer anymore. There's no need for her to feel alone and helpless when she has a whole pack watching her back and I adore her. I wanted to kiss her so bad that I was about to lose control.
