Alex's P. O. V.

"I did not make  a prophecy," I told Lily and Katie who assumed I made a prophecy.

"Well, It's not every day you pass out and look into the future, right?" Lily said.

"Yup. But it always has a price. I had to survive two days of horror," I said.

"That's why it's a prophecy," Katie said.

"Prophecy or vision. I don't care. I just don't want to go through the same horror again."

"Oh my god! Tonight's the Yule Ball. And I'm like so lucky to have Carson to take me out," a girl squealed.

"Please, Jordan is my date. He's like so effing hot. It would be best if I have the Elf Prince to take me out. But sadly, he took another girl out," another girl joined in.

"I know right! That girl must be like very lucky," Girl 1 said. They walked pass us.

"Time to get ready girls, chop chop," Katie said.

"Katie... it doesn't start until 7, it's only 1 pm," I said.

"A girl needs time to put facial mask, bathe, spa, bathe again, put make up, find the right shoes, manicure and pedicure and get dressed, right?" Katie said walking away.

"It only takes me two hours," Lily and I said in unison.

I'm both nervous and excited. Nervouscited? I'm nervous about dancing in front of a crowd. I'm excited because this night is a once in a blue moon night.

I looked into the mirror again. I didn't have much make-up, my hair was brushed and I let it flow naturally. I placed my circlet on. My dress went with my white shoes.

I walked out of the room.

Legolas's P. O. V.

I looked up, a beautiful girl in peach dress descended the stairs. That girl is Alex. My eyes moved from her eyes down to her feet and back up again. I smiled. She smiled in return. As soon as she reached the ground, I took her hand and kissed it.

"Let's go..." I whispered. I take her hand and we walked to the Great Hall.

Chandeliers hung down the ceilings of the hall. There were round tables covered with light blue cloth(close to white). Cups, plates, forks, spoons, knives, napkins, and vases of red and white roses rested on the table. The floor was enchanted to look like marble and the walls were enchanted to look like gold colored walls.

There were long tables at the side of the hall, food lined up neatly on the table.

There were some men with weird instruments, there were sitting down in rows. One of them was holding a flute. I guess these men are playing music.  The men began to play. Calm music filled my ears.

"Oh, Miss Peterson and Your Majesty, you have to line up there," a boy said pointing towards the line of contestants and their dance partners.

"Okay. Thanks, Gordon," Alex said. We walked to the line.

"Nervous?" I asked.

"A bit," Alex said. I smiled. The doors of the hall closed.

10 minutes later...

The doors opened. Students lined up, there was a path in the middle. The first couple went in an there was a roar of applause.  We trailed behind, Lily and her partner. I recognized the dress.

Once we stepped into the hall, I felt Alex clutching my hand tighter. I chuckled. We walked to the dance floor. The music played, there was then silence. I put my hand on Alex's waist as she put her hand on my shoulder. I reached out for her hand. Our fingers intertwined.
