Y/n POV

I woke with a start, praying that last night hadden't happened. But of course, I was wrong.

I was next to Ruby the same way I had fallen asleep, with her arms rapped around me and my back to her.

I breathed out heavily. "What do they think of me now?" I wondered. "Probably weak or something."

I got up, careful to not wake my sister up, and silently landed on the ground. I changed into my normal clothes and headed out to... wherever.

My dreams consisted of a man, a faunus man to be exact, missing an arm and leg. He wore a Grimm mask, but black with green marks. He never said anything, but he was always lying on the ground, bleeding. They always ended with the same thing. The man being attacked by some weird looking Grimm I had never seen, him laughing in the face of death.

I couldn't figure out who it was, nor could I figure out what was so significant about him. But it seemed like someone or something was trying to tell me something. "Is it a warning? A sign that... I should be dead, but someone took the hit for me?"

I pondered these thoughts on Beacon cliff. Watching the people go by every once in a while. I had more than enough silence because of that damn Beowolf all those years ago. But I needed it again. That's how I earned the name "Silent Rose" from my enemies. A speechless hostile that never uttered a word, or a sound of pain, leaving rose petals behind.

Ruby, and even Yang, had seen me as a protector, their fearless warrior of a brother. But last night showed how weak I really was. Unable to get past the four years of Hell that my life had been. Sure, Uncle Qrow tried to "raise me", but I still didn't trust anyone. Well, except Ruby. She'd been helpful and caring through out my life.

I chuckled a little. Remebering when we used to pretend fight with sticks or pieces of foam we cut into sword like shapes. Yang even played with us too. I'd usually be protecting Ruby while Yang played the bad guy, or girl in this case.

I remember when Ruby and... Mom.... would put make up on each other, and how they'd chase me down to do it to me.

The time when Mom came home from one of her longer missions, and we nearly tackled her when she stepped through the door.

But those days were over and gone. Mom.... died. Tai became abusive, and Yang joined in on the "fun". Ruby... I had to leave behind to escape that God forsaken house hold.

Now we had been reunited. Brother and sister see each other again after being split apart for five, maybe six, years. Sounds like a fairytale....

"Hey, you alright?" Suddenly someone said, putting a hand on my shoulder. I hadn't even realized I was crying.

I nodded to the stranger. He had blonde hair and blue eyes, with a bit of void black dots in them. He wore a camo hoodie and jeans.

He looked over to someone in a gas mask and similar hoodie, who was motioning him to hurry this up. "Sorry, I gotta go now. I'll try not to make this too tragic, okay?"

I looked at him confused, but when I blinked he was gone. I had a feeling I wouldn't be seeing him again.

I got up and wiped my tears away. I walked back to the dorm to see my team getting ready for today. "Hey Y/n." Ruby said, "Where were you this morning?"

I pulled up the screen, "Beacon cliff. I needed to clear my head a little more."

She nodded, as if to understand. Yang looked guilty. Weiss and Blake looked at me with a hint of pitty, but over all had saddened expressions. "We're going into town. You wanna come?" Blake asked.

I nodded, turning off the screen. We walked out to the landing pad and boarded an air ship to Vale. Yang decided to try and ask for forgiveness. "Hey, Y/n." She said, guilt filling her words. I turned to her, "I just wanted to apologize for last night. We forgot to mention Dad's random surprise visits and I-I... wanted to say sorry." She had tears in her eyes. It made me feel bad, I couldn't hate her forever, even if she had caused me pain.

I hugged her, surprising her a little. "Y-your... not mad?"

I turned on the screen again, "I am, but I can't be mad at you for something you had no control over."

She smiled a little. "Thanks, I missed you little bro." She said. I didn't forgive her yet. Hell, I barely trusted her. But I couldn't help but feel bad that she was regretting bullying me for most of my life. It gave me hope that she's changed.

We eventually landed, me and Ruby walking closely together. She squeezed my hand a little, not wanting to lose me again. I smiled at how much she missed me. Maybe I should hide the time I.... yeah don't think it's a good idea for her to find out.

We explored Vale for some time, coming to a restaurant and a few weapon shops so Ruby could look at some parts. Not gonna lie, I was just as excited to see some of the parts in there but did a better job at hiding it.

I had bought a new "handcannon", instead of just relying on Black Rose's secondary mode which required that I swing it at a pretty fast speed. It had a dark blue tint to it. It had spades, the card kind, engraved onto it for looks.

(RIP Cayde-6, you will always be remembered)

The "Ace" as the keeper called it was special, an old friend of his used it but he himself inherited it but was retired when he got it, so if I needed help with the keep up, I should go to him. It was free of charge because he wanted to see it in good hands.

After we were done with that, we headed back to Beacon. But not before Finding out Blake was a faunus, from a guy named Sun who really needed to shut his trap about this apparently.

Over all, I'd say it was a pretty tame day. Though, I felt a little uncomfortable around Yang still.

There was one thing I couldn't help but wonder. "Who was that in my dream?"
