Yang POV

It's been a week since Y/n fell into his coma. Ruby hasn't been the same since. She's been quiet, not energetic, and sits in bed all day.

We found another drawing in Y/n's art book:

We still didn't understand why he was drawing these type of things

We still didn't understand why he was drawing these type of things. His art book was full of them, finished or not. Was it his symbol? Did it represent something? We couldn't figure it out.

Ruby got increasingly more worried as we looked through the pictures. It didn't help that our Uncle wouldn't tell us what was wrong, except that Y/n was still in a coma.

Right now, we were going to sleep. I laid in bed trying to figure out what was wrong with Y/n. To the most likely, like he pushed himself too hard, or the most unlikely, like he wasn't human anymore.

"Y/n... don't go... please..." I heard Ruby whimper in her sleep, "please... I need you..." I looked closer to see tears running down my sister's face, it broke my heart to see her like this. She was hugging his old teddy bear like she had when he left all those years ago...

I looked at the time, 10:13. I got up silently and quietly went into the hallway. I was going to see my brother, wether our Uncle would let me or not.

I snuck through the halls, making my way to the infirmary. It was connected to the dorms, fortunately, in case someone needed to be moved from their rooms and into medical care. When I got close to the hall where Y/n was being kept, I moved even quieter. Reaching the corner where his hall was, I peaked around the corner to scout ahead. There, our Uncle sat on a bench, asleep. I took a deep breath and snuck quieter than Ruby sneaking to get cookies at night. I reached the door, almost home free. "Do you really want to see him that bad, or is it to clear your conscious?" Caught red handed by the Old bird himself.

I turned to him, "Listen, I want to see my brother again. To at least know he's alive."

Qrow looked solemnly at me, "I would mention that you hurt him in the first place, but I think you already got that through your head, right?" I nodded, "Then I'll show you why I didn't want you to see him."

He got up and walked to the door, pulling out a key and unlocking the door, "Even if you had gotten past me successfully, it was locked anyways." He turned the handle, pushing the door open. He stood out of the way, "I wished it had been Ruby to sneak down here, but I guess you should see it too."

I walked in, what I saw scared me. Y/n was hooked up to more than just a heart monitor and IV bag, he had a bag with a black liquid in it attached to his arm, a computer plugged into the metal joint where his prosthetic should've been, and a strange looking oxygen mask over his face. He was deathly pale, as if you drained the blood out of him, and was barely breathing.

Then my Uncle spoke, "All this," he motioned to the various machines plugged into Y/n, "is barely keeping him alive."

I had tears in my eyes now, "Why only barely?" I pushed out.

"He was slowly killing himself Yang. He no longer has the will to live, and isn't trying to wake up." I turned to him, "We're trying to keep him alive and wake him up as much as we can... but it's not enough."

I started to cry even more. What had we done to him? Was he just looking for reasons to live when we found him?

I regained my composure a little, "What about Ruby?"

This didn't seem to surprise him, "I've thought about it, problem is, she doesn't know yet. I was hoping Ruby would try to sneak down here herself, like you did, but she hasn't yet."

"Why don't you tell her?"

He sighed, "Because it goes farther than you can know. But if you can discreetly get her to come down here herself, with out the rest of you, then we might have a chance at saving him."

This isn't how I thought this would go. I thought Y/n was stable, or at least trying to wake up, but he was critical. I had to get Ruby to him ASAP Rocky. Tomorrow I'd do this, to try and make up with my brother and get my family together again. "How long does he have?"

Uncle Qrow looked solemnly at me, "A few weeks at best. At worst, tomorrow." I started to cry again, this time he pulled me into a hug, "Y/n will be fine when Ruby gets here, hopefully."

I nodded, hopefully Ruby can do something to wake him. I let go of my Uncle and walked saddly back to the dorm. It was Three in the morning and I needed sleep, but how could I sleep knowing we broke my brother so bad that he lost his will to live? It kept me up for at least another hour before I fell victim to it, falling into a nightmare.

It was dark, I heard screaming. I looked all around me till I finally saw the source, it was Y/n. He tried clawing his way to me, looking at me pleading for me to help him, but I couldn't move. Then a Beowolf sculked out from the darkness and grabbed Y/n by the neck, lifting him slightly. "Please! Help me!" He cried, but before he could call out again, a heart wrenching snap filled the void as the beast bit down hard and Y/n head twisting in an unnatural way. The creature dragged his corpse into the darkness as I cried out for it to take me with it. Then I heard a step behind me, a twig snapped. I twisted around and fired a shot into the darkness where it came from. The source of the step was Blake, who now had a hole in her gut. "W.... We trusted you..." She said, passing out from the wound. I screamed in fear and anger at what I had just done and witnessed.

I woke with a start, the rest of my team looking at me concerned. Blake spoke up, "Are you alright? We heard you saying something in your sleep just before you woke up."

I nodded, "It was a nightmare. I'm fine." I lied, tears slowly coming out of my eyes. Why had I had this nightmare? Was it a sign?

Ruby hopped up onto the bed and hugged me, "You don't look fine Yang. What's wrong?"

I wiped a tear from my eye, "It's Y/n." I said, Ruby getting a little saddened by the thought, "I just want my little brother and sister back." My voice cracking as I said this.

Ruby hugged me tighter, "You have me though. You have Blake and Weiss too, right guys?"

They nodded, "Whatever happens, we'll be there for you Yang. You're part of this team and we will do everything we can to help you, same thing for you Ruby, we want to help you feel better about Y/n." Blake said, Weiss nodding.

"Thanks guys." I said, "But can me and Ruby talk for a minute alone?" Blake and Weiss nodded and walked out. I looked at Ruby, "I went to see him last night."

Her eyes widened, "What happened? Is Y/n alright? Can they figure out why he hasn't waken up yet?"

Tears began to come out of my eyes again, "He's in critical condition." I said, my voice cracking, "He isn't even actively trying to wake up, Ruby. He does want to live anymore."

Ruby started to cry too, breaking my heart farther. "No... I don't want to lose him too."

We hugged and cried into each other's shoulders. After a good five minutes of this, I spoke again, "Uncle Qrow said that you might be able to help him, since you're the only reason he's still here."

She looked at me hopeful, maybe she could help him and we could be a family again. Then she pulled me into a tight hug, then released me, and ran out the door.

==================================

Alright. We're back to continue this book and apologize for not updating it since September.

Yeah, sorry about that.

So, this was kind of a hard chapter to write since I didn't know how to kick it off and all, but we're going to continue.

Also, updates will be slow because of school, saddly.

Now, as always
  Goodbye and goodnight.
